Don't look now, but I just saw on NFL Network that the G-men have Ereck Flowers officially on the block. Looking for draft compensation.
Apparently being a no show for voluntary activities is a great way to get yourself traded... Flowers has always been a "sulker" and he is reacting poorly to being replaced at LT.
IMHO . . . No great loss. The dude was over way drafted when he was picked by the Giants in the first place.
I really started watching draft film the year after Flowers was drafted. Before that I may have watched the occasional highlight clip but mostly was just reading what other people saw. But last season I did a mid-year breakdown on like 2 or 3 games of Flowers film for some guys who were parroting garbage from PFF but clearly never bothered to look at Flowers. (I'm a glutton for punishment) I wanted to see how much he improved from his college film so I went back and pulled a few games. I legitimately don't understand how a group of people who get paid to be good at evaluating college players watched his college film and said to themselves "YES this is what a top 10 pick looks like!" Everything he does wrong is clear as day in his college tape.
Just the hindsight factor... After watching Flowers struggle the last couple seasons, would anybody in the world dare to disagree? Thus the captain's appearance...
