So, to you trolling is just another form of expressing an opinion. Your definition is not the widely accepted one for "trolling".
Your prediction on the leafs taking a step back was based on them not having anothet injury free season. Last year matthews played 82 games, now this season he playes 62 games and they achieved higher success.
I'm not trolling when I say that Evander Kanes trade value isn't/wasn't anywhere near where you had it. This was a very strong opinion I had that ended up being true. If he wasn't such a problem then why did they feel the need to deal him for a possible 2nd round pick?
i think the point is that predicting where a team will finish in the future is far different than trolling. predicting the Arizona Coyotes not making the playoffs is not similar to posting a video about why Arizona sucks.
That's true, I never said a prediction was trolling, just making him eat crow. Trolling is also dependent on how you react to it, like anything else in life.
I'm done talking to you. How many times do I have to say that "I would not be surprised" (if the Leafs took a step back) is not a prediction. At no point did I ever say that I did not think the Leafs were going to make the playoffs.
Blatantly wrong? Like a 1st rounder, prospect, plus a positional player for Kane? I kept pointing out the red flags, like the 6 week scoring drought and fight at practice. I will be posting your crow when I get a chance.
Most points 105 2017–18 Leafs The San Jose Sharks added firepower to their lineup before the NHL Trade Deadline on Monday, acquiring forward Evander Kane from the Buffalo Sabres for forward Daniel O'Regan and conditional first- and fourth-round picks in the 2019 NHL Draft. The first-round pick traded to the Sabres is NHL Draft Lottery-protected and would become a second-round choice unless Kane re-signs with the Sharks or they win the Stanley Cup, Wilson said. The fourth-round pick can become a third-round choice in 2020 at San Jose's discretion.
First, the actual trade return is not too far from what the Sabres got. More importantly, the discussion prior to the deadline was about what the Sabres should ask for E. Kane. Who the fuck knows what anyone will actually bring? Your astounding ability to mash obfuscation together with reading incomprehension is remarkable. JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!
I said that they would get a late first, or even a second rounder plus a prospect. You were upset at my prediction and kept insisting they would get their ask (three pieces). You want to pretend you're ok with the deal, even after losing Myers, go ahead. I know how it went down, it's over and done, out.
Now you add incoherence to your grab bag of idiocy. WTF does Myers have to do with this? Because he was a part of the garbage that WPG got a couple of years ago? (Got news for you: Buffalo clearly won that trade.) Now, go ahead and use that sometime to put words in my mouth. The fact is that Kane is worth what I said the Sabres should have asked. Tell it like you wish but I am a greater authority on what I meant than you are. The real question that fans of every playoff team, (and those that nearly made the payoffs), is "why did my team not make a push to get Kane?". He is proving me more than correct in terms of what he would mean for the team that acquired him. I was not upset about any prediction - you give yourself way too much credit - to believe I give what you say that much importance. No, I was arguing for what his value should be - not what the Sabres would get. If I were making a projection for what Buffalo would actually get I would have named prospects and players. It is stunning just how obtuse you can be. You can persist on this if you wish. The end will be just like the end of your discussion about my "prediction" for what the Leafs would do this season. Once your views are thoroughly discredited you will try to change the subject. Meanwhile, a troll - on sports boards - is really just a more polite term for an asshole. I'm not that polite when I have been repeatedly trolled for months.
Buffalo clearly won that trade? A 6"8 d-man with 36 pts, plus armia (29 pts), a serviceable roster player for a heavyweight playoff team. What alternate reality are you living in? How has buffalo won that trade? Wether the sharks sign him or not, the pick will be anywhere from 25th to 62nd overall. I've repeatedly trolled you for months? Again, an alternate reality.
A deal with the sharks will not yield a high draft pick, also O'Regan is 24 years old, hardly a valuable prospect. Also reading back the pages until october, I don't see where there is any trolling. I see a fellow poster attempting to engage in meaningful discussions, which I see you "like" many times.
A probable first and a conditional third. Plus O'Regan the reigning AHL RoY. I feel he should have gotten a better return - and that was my point then. And now. By late June fans of every team should be angry that their GM did not make a legitimate offer for a player built for playoff hockey and that melded immediately into the fabric of the team. Your problem is a half-ass ability to comprehend messages. For instance, believing that being called a troll is anything other than an insult.
You brought up the Kane trade after your assertion that I had "predicted" the Leafs would fail to make the playoffs was thoroughly refuted. You then tried to change the topic by bringing up the Kane trade deadline discussion. A failure to grasp intent and context tripped you up again. Meanwhile you posted a completely gratuitous clip labeled "mediocrity" - that was really about suckitude. You may have thought it funny, but you yourself agreed that it was an act of trolling.
Ah, let's just drop it, I have a game 7 on my plate. Too many rabbit holes in the politics forum already.
Dan - I saw an interesting article and trade or FA signing rumor this week involving Robin Lehner to the Flyers. Now this this shocking on many levels. Level 1 is the Flyers already have 2 goalies signed for next year, although they both suck in Elliott and Neuvirth. Level 2 is they have 2 AHL goalies waiting to take over in Lyons and Stolarz. And level 3, they will have 2 junior goalies waiting for a promotion and 1 in Carter Hart ready for his NHL debut either next season or the year after. So why the hell would the Flyers trade for this goalie when they have 4 replacements under team control and 2 still under contract?? Not saying Lehner isn't good, but out of all the moves Hextall needs to make, it seems like goaltending is the last move he should make.
