Where Do We Go From Here?

It's similar to Steeler fan reactions if you dared to claim there was a better TE than Heath Miller back in the day...

I didn't mince words, nor did I take a year away. He isn't the best, never has been. He could be if he used his talents to their fullest. Is he in the top 3 or 4??? Sure... That isn't the BEST.

LOL Beckham has never had a 1500 yard season but somehow averages 1,534 per year? Never had a season over 101 catches and somehow averaged 107 over 3? And somehow 38 TDs over 4 seasons / 35 in his best 3 = 13 per year? You are the biggest fraud on L4SN.

I agree with you, there. He isn't the best.

    Julio Jones is.

Can we settle on arguably one of the best? Geezus, we aren't even talking directly about the WR, we are talking about the Giants as a landing spot..Any given year, my money would be on Brown (I'll say his name first so that you don't get offended), Julio and Odell...Any of the 3 are capable of being the top receiver in any given year.

How did a post about Saquon Barkley start a war about WRs from an afterthought excerpt? Steelers fans are SO BORED right now, they will latch on to anything to start a debate....

We have more pressing things to think about with the draft a week away...so shoo fly, don't bother me.

    Speaking of Wide Receivers . . .

Who is on you guy's wish list? (Round 2 or later).

Mine is DaeShean Hamilton, Penn State.

    D.J. Moore.
    Anthony Miller.

And not a guy I'd ever take (red flags) but keep an eye on Antonio Callaway (Florida). Dorsey has taken fliers on talented but troubled guys and he came into Cleveland for a pre-draft visit. He's an incredible athlete (think Tyreek Hill) but has a lengthy wrap sheet - sexual assault charge (dropped), marijuana citation, fraud, etc.

After the top 3 (Sutton, Ridley, Kirk) there's several I like along with those already mentioned.....D.J. Chark (2), Dante Pettis(3), Deon Cain(3), Michael Gallup(3), Keke Coutee (4/5)...

FTR: I haven't lost faith in Corey Coleman. Kizer has a way of throwing the ball that WR's seem to hate. I'm giving Coleman a pass on last year, but admit that THIS is make or break year for him...Gordon, Coleman and Landry is a helluva potent trio of receivers that should make defenses very concerned. All we need is the right trigger man in place, and I think the world will take note that the Browns are extremely talented at the position...Our punt return game has been a joke since Travis Benjamin left, and Peppers did nothing in that capacity, so I would love to see us land Pettis at some point in this draft. He's got gamebreaker skills..And you guys know I've been all about Chark from the beginning..

I have liked Equanimeous St. Brown for quite some time and he keeps losing ground to the talking heads. The kids a winner and has an impeccable reputation. His numbers dropped in 2017 due to scheme changes, but he can run himself open and make contested catches. He could be developed into a red zone threat which is something we lack when Josh Gordon isn't available. A lot of mocks have him going in the 5th round or lower...but in the real world I will be surprised if he makes it out of the 3rd. We would probably have to trade up from our 4th round spot, but I personally think he is worth it.

There isn't a #1 type receiver outside Ridley and Sutton imho. D.J. Chark has the skillset to become that type of player, but the rest of this class is situational players. Which is something this team needs to build around until they have a QB that can control the game.

If we could get Chark at #64, then come back and get Brown in a trade back into the back half of round 3, I think this receiving corps would be much better off in 2 years.

    That's my 2 cents.

Take away: Stop taking projections over production.

But sure... *this* can be fixed in a season:

Week 3? Hopefully it features Tyrod Taylor versus Josh McCown with Baker Mayfield (CLE) and Josh Rosen (NYJ) on the sidelines.
