Thanks. I had him on my short list at 7.15, but went for filling needs at G and slot corner with my other two 7th's first...I hesitated just for a second even on the third go just because I'm not entirely sure where he fits on the Chiefs' D and obviously his rookie year is a rehab year, but I figured the talent was too much to pass up and the coaches will figure out what to do with him when he's healthy.
@firehalo ? I'd hate to auto you when you were here during your slot waiting for the Steelers autopick.
I absolutely hate this draft. Of course, that's because I'm a division rival (Falcons) and now I'll have to defend against Chubb and Kirk in addition to the rest of the Panthers weapons. Ouch. Key and McIntosh won't be making life pleasant either.
This draft hinges on Key and Jackson. If they show up and play to the level that they can without any of the baggage they carry derailing their momentum, this is an extremely solid haul. Chubb with McCaffrey is an instant upgrade over an aging Stewart with McCaffrey. Another solid draft.
Solid get here. Good run stopper who has some upside (assuming your coaching staff is any better than Butch Jones).
I wasn't planning to take Harris, but I had a 4th round grade on him, he's a system fit, and we've lost some of our developmental CBs. So when he was still there in the 7th, it was a no-brainer from a value perspective to use the pair of 7th rounders to get him.
Ideally I'd start him out at 3-4 OLB in obvious pass rush situations. I'm not entirely sure of his fit yet, but at this point I was happy to just get his talent.
ARIZONA CARDINALS 1(14) WR - Calvin Ridley, Alabama 1(32) OT - Connor Williams, Texas 4(30) QB - Kyle Lauletta, Richmond 6(1) S - Tre Flowers, Oklahoma State 6(31) RB - Justin Jackson, Northwestern 7(10) WR - Darren Carrington II, Utah 7(32) DE - Christian LaCouture, LSU I forgot I had another 7th. I grabbed an interesting 3-4 DE candidate.
