I don’t see how Vegas gets an exception. They are a full on bonafide NHL team now. Welcome to the party, pal.

The hit was dirty only because wingels fell down, but wingels isn't innocent either, the flying elbow should be called.

I think you can make a case the Wingels could have been called for a penalty, but that doesn't change the fact that Kadri's hit was dirty.

If Kadri wanted to settle the score he should have fought him or waited for a more appropriate opportunity.

I believe Kadri's hit was super dirty.

the hit was dirty because Kadri had time to let up but he launched his hip in to a vulnerable player's head. it's not on anyone else here. Kadri is a rat and this certainly isnt the 1st time we've seen it.

I'm not saying kadris hit wasn't dirty, he already committed and the wingels fell. He was angry because of the double hit and elbow on marner, so he didn't change his course

Kadri had plenty of time to not launch in to Wingels head. plenty. of. time.
"double hit and elbow on Marner" is more than misleading. Marner skates in to the OZ and is pinched off by Chara, he shouldve dumped it in knowing there was back pressure but instead he tries to keep possession and turn back making himself low. Chara gets a piece and Wingels is right there too with his arms down. Yes he kinda got Marner up high but skating in the OZ with possession of the puck you should expect to get hit, even a 2 minute penalty would probably have been too much on Wingels. I think the dirty rat Kadri was frustrated with the score and took a cheap opportunity to make a cheap play, as he is known to do.
I can only imagine the outrage if this was Marchand.

Kadri's was dirty. He will be missing at least a game. Wingels was on his knees for a good while before he launched off his feet. Let's not play games. Now he may have been pissed and had a "reason" even if it was getting at Wingels for what he just did but it doesn't change things.

Kadri will be suspended, wether wingels fell or not, he was doing the hit . He got hurt earlier in the game and was already set off. The flying elbow on marner was a standard by the book two minute call made 95% of the time.

Flying elbow? Come on man, Wingels didn’t even raise up, Marner was low and turned in to it. I could see calling it to keep peace in the game given the situation but hitting is still allowed, especially when the guy with the puck has his head at that level with out time to avoid it.

I don't know, I looked at it about five times, he has his elbows raised and directed toward the head.

Suppose this a “agree to disagree “ instance, and that’s what makes this crew here great in my opinion. Always respectful even in disagreements. I respect Skinny’s opinion regardless.

On the video posted above look around the 50 second mark. Wingels comes in hands down. Of course in every hit the body naturally rises but Marner put himself in that low spot by turning away from Chara and either not sensing the backchecker or assuming he wouldn’t get hit.....which is absurd. Either way that’s a hit where Marner puts himself in a terrible spot. This seems to be happening more and more with young players as the game evolves. You can’t blindly turn in the OZ and not expect to get bundled.

I don't see the Wingels elbow either, but Kadri sure thought he did.

There's nothing wrong about wingels laying a hit, his elbows are either high up, or medium height. I see high up.

Kadri might've went too far, but this playoff hockey. You can''t let a player like marner get hit like that without some retaliation. If wingels didn't didn't fall, this isn't even a conversation.
He fell and kadri made a bad decision.

    Case closed.

A boston sports reporter on toronto radio just said the wingels elbow was definitely a missed call.

Pretty sure the case is still open at the department of player safety.
It’s not a conversation if Kadri doesn’t doesn’t cheapshot Wingels.

    I'm expecting two games.

Me too. and maaaaybe Wingels 1 but I don't think he gets anything. If Kadri get less it's because Playoff games are essentially worth 2 and he was ejected which is like a suspension.

  19. skinny123 Guest

    Wingels won't get anything.

Bad hit by Kadri regardless of anything that transpired up until that point. If he would have hit Marchand then it would have been completely acceptable and probably celebrated across the land.
