I would say Derwin is an A type player while Minkah is a B type player...A and B is in relation to letter grades in school
I must have misunderstood your response. I thought we were discussing James and Reid at safety. I have Minkah listed with my CBs.
Landry isn’t even close to being in the same class as Brown, Julio, AJ, Adams, etc as far as playmakers....$15M yr is pretty crazy...now if they want Gordon resigned that will be $17-20M yr after this signing
If Landry keeps putting up his average season thus far, there is nothing wrong with that money. ::EDIT:: Average season: 100 receptions, 1009 yrds, 6 TD
Last I checked the NFL still had a 90 man roster...right? So, why did the Browns release: Gavin Escobar signed Jan 15, 2018 Max Bullough signed Jan 11, 2018 Bug Howard Matt Lengal Larry Pinkard Claimed off waivers from the Jaguars Feb 26, 2018 C.J. Smith Kelvin Taylor signed Jan 10, 2018 Most of these guys haven't even had significant time in front of the coaching staff... weird (edit) after these moves, the Browns have 71 players on the roster..
My hunch is they're just getting ahead of the priority free agents. Seems like potentially a lot of them (19 spots) but you never know.
I was really hoping that Bug Howard would have caught on after a few weeks on the PS. He has the size and the speed, guess it was something else.
Landry is a highly productive WR that plays the game with tenacity...And he's embraced the notion of being a Brown. He's worth the money.
A great QB helps all P manning made his entire team better by making their job easier. Freeny and Mathis could run wild because they knew the run wasn’t an option in a lot of games. I’m infatuated with the idea of Chubb joining the lineup. Even if he’s rotating with Garrett. Could you imagine being the OT that has to contend with those two always being fresh?
If they are both on the field at the same time, which side does the QB line up his RB for the chip block? It's gonna present some serious problems for the opposing O-line...I love the idea too. When you watch him on tape, he's tenacious. The guy wins with brute physical dominance. His hands and forearms are powerful. He just plays the game in a way I really enjoy watching. His rip and swim moves are as good as I've seen...I'd take him or Barkley and be happy, but I'd lean towards the DE. A dominant defensive pass rushing front is something we haven't really had in my lifetime...
Honestly, I love both Guice and Michel as well..I am all about getting Chubb at #4, then praying one of them falls to #33. I can't believe Michel lasted to pick #51 in the mock. There is no way I see him lasting that long...Not sure he makes it to the second day.
Maybe just for fun. Line up Garrett on the outside shoulder of the OT and put Chubb next to him on the inside shoulder...
I was kind of surprised where both fell...And I agree that's a major thing to consider if trying to decide between Chubb and Barkley.
Remember, this guy is more dialed in than the local media. Couple things: Darnold/Allen love "reported" from Browns is smokescreen for Dorsey to cover true intentions (Mayfield) as well as suss out the leaks in the building. Not meeting with Chubb, Barkley, or Fitzpatrick isn't the reason that they won't be the picks at #4, but still don't believe they will be. #4 is either a trade down or a less-discussed pick (Denzel Ward, Tremaine Edmunds, Maurice Hurst).
For those blocked (there are many) by Grossi... http://www.espn.com/blog/cleveland/post/_/id/4932 He has Derrius Guice falling out of the first round and yet the Browns are passing on him at #33 and #35, instead selecting Ronald (calls him 'Ronnie' for some reason) Jones.
I'm not sure that we should be reading anything into that....But if I was, I'd say it could indicate a desire to trade down. If there's a QB starved team, like say BUFFALO, that wants to come up and has the ammo to do it, I can certainly see that happening. Particularly if our target is a DT or OT.... Part of me wants the tradedown from #4, but I would be very happy if they simply stayed put and grabbed the top QB on the board, and then followed it up with the top non QB on the board at #4. That would be pretty awesome...My gut tells me, Dorsey wants to move down from #4, but that's really based only off the fact that they didn't host Barkley or Chubb...If it's not one of those two, I think a dark horse for #4 is Denzel Ward.
