It works out because he 2ould now be working with one of the best tackles in the game right by his side to pull doubles away leaving him 1 on 1 outside
Giants were making a token effort to get back into the first round for Landry. I just didn't want to go up too high. I like my edge rushers to have bend and he has it.
Fun fact, the Titans canceled their visit with him because they said there’s no way he falls to us and didn’t want to waste his time. Take that as you will.
Can I take a moment to talk about how much I hate the stat "pressures?" Seriously WTF does that mean. PFF uses it to say edge players who can't get sacks are good and tackles that block ok are bad. It drives me nuts. And then fans want to have it both ways. If your DE generates pressures and not sacks well all he does is not get to the QB. If a tackle gives up pressures and not sacks that's a huge problem and he stinks! I feel like I have PTSD when it comes to PFF and pressures. JPP and OV generate a ton of "pressures" but little in the way of sacks or hell even disruptive rush attempts that result in bad throws etc... And then Flowers (who admittedly isn't all that good) Gives up boat loads of pressure during a stretch where he went like 9 games without giving up a sack and he was obviously player terribly the entire time. I hate this stat so much.
PFF doesn't have a good definition of what a pressure is. Also you have to understand how PFF grades.
