2018 NFL Draft | Quarterbacks

Why not just take Lamar Jackson? He has a bigger upside, IMHO, already is more accurate (had a terrible drop rate), and out-rushed the running back when only having designed runs account for about 1/4 of his plays?

I don't think too many people saw Allen as anything but a 1st round pick. Has he helped himself in the off-season? Certainly, probably more so than any QB prospect out there. And it's a bit unfair to suggest he did it in shorts. He did it at the Senior Bowl more than anything with actual talent on the field. In the end, only time will tell but as long as he's willing to work I see him being better than any other QB out there, especially Darnold. That guy was so disappointing this year considering the talent around him. To each his own.

LOL isn't someone going to tell him it was his boy Albright a year ago?

  4. Dogside18 Franchise Player Browns

Again, loving him a year ago, does not equate to having him as #1 overall now. I haven't followed Albright for too long to be able to compare what he thought last year and its not really worth my time searching.

But here is some food for though:

    Courtesy of Mr Albright

Josh Allen V Power 5 Schools (Nebraska, Oregon, Iowa):

    3 games, 3 losses
    48/96, 427 yds, 1 td, 8 int
74.13 College Passer rating/31.03 NFL rating

Beach, you allude to the lack of talent surrounding him but its not a lack of talent that has an affect on a basic blitz read post snap leading to a check down. It is completely fair to say that his work in shorts has increased his stock, it sure as hell his mechanics, footwork, ball placement, or any other aspect of his film. Even in shorts, at the Sr Bowl, he didn't appear capable of hitting the broad side of a barn or a net with a pass (the game was better, but that's not the point).

Coaches ego-maniacs and believe that they are Da Vinci with a blank canvas over every prospect, and it literally almost never works out. Wentz did, but he had a bigger upside coming out, despite the hitch in his throwing motion, and it took him having 3 former QBs as coaches to recognize the exact way to maximize his talent which simply does not happen at the pro level. We saw the perfect example of the with the changing of the guard for the Rams.

Jeff Fisher wanted a QB from 1993, and that's not what Goff (or Wentz) is. The Eagles and Rams have added parts of these guys college playbooks to their pro scheme to maximize their ability. This is also the whole argument against the thought that "Sashi could have had Wentz/Goff...look how good they were last year". That simply wouldn't have happened with Hue here. Perhaps Sashi recognized that and that's why he continued to build the team with his picks.

All I can say is I watch Ben sometimes and think what the hell is this guy thinking? And he's going in the hall of fame. The question is, as you alluded to, what can this guy do with NFL coaching? Personally, I think in the right situation, given time to learn he could follow in Ben's footsteps. He's capable of things only a few guys in the world can do. Only time will tell.

    ^^^^^ I should have known.

While his dishonesty knows no bounds and this won't change him, here's clarification for everyone else from the source himself:

Tell me Buffalo or New York (Jets) don't want this guy under center for the next 10 seasons.

Preferrable to any "Josh Allen-based" mock draft for Cleveland:

If you don't want to read it:

    1 - Saquon Barkley, RB
    4 - Bradley Chubb, DE
32 (projected trade) - Lamar Jackson, QB

  11. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Earlier today I spoke about the top 4 QB's in this draft.

I want to make it crystal clear . . . Lamar Jackson is NOT included in those top 4. IMHO, he's a bust waiting to happen. Kizer has a better chance of succeeding in the NFL.

    My top 4:

    1. 001 Baker Mayfield
    1.002 Josh Rosen
    2.001 Sam Darnold
    2.004 Josh Allen

    1 - Baker
    2 - Rosen
    3 - Lamar Jackson
    4 - Darnold
    5 - Mason Rudolph
6 - Drafting Saquon Barkley #1 overall and running the Wildcat exclusively
7 - Literally the rest of the prospects in this class

    ...
    ...
    ...

    N/A - Josh Allen
