Earl Watford, somebody I’ve never heard of, who apparently couldn’t beat out Ted Larsen in Arizona Cardinals training camp for several years signs with bears. Who needs Quentin Nelson, anyways? We have this guy, Kush, and Morgan vying for that LG spot
Good. Decent role player/good STer. I don't even know who this is. I guess this is where Heistand comes in.
You guys see the buzz about Howard? Apparently he removed all his Bears stuff from his Instagram account. I don't think it really means much at this point but kinda interesting.
Three receivers coming off major leg injuries? Is that really a good idea? I’d rather draft one in rounds 4-7.
What are we like 7-8months on from the injury? I guess we're about to find out how good the team thinks his rehab has gone. Assuming they're happy with where Meredith is at, this is a pretty easy decision imo. I saw a couple of speculative pieces suggesting Cam could receive offer sheets ranging from 6-7mil per year, so 5 really isn't bad. Its prob just below market price for a WR2. Plus only half is guaranteed so if he doesn't come back the same they bail out next offseason. Plus plus this offer sheet is 2years. Meaning if Meredith does come back strong the Bears won't be trying to fight off other teams willing to pay 7-9mil per a year from now. If Cam comes back healthy and takes his game on from 2016 this will prove a really good value signing. TBH the more I think about this....... did the Saints just do the Bears a favour with this offer sheet? Do you mean you'd rather draft one than resign Cam, guys? I get the risk aspect but honestly, if I'm cutting someone its White not Meredith. One at least has some numbers to his name, the other does not. Its hard to say too much from the outside of course, we don't know how the rehabs etc have gone. All things being equal tho I don't see why you can't keep them both and draft a WR. That's what i'd like to see em do.
Meredith and Robinson are both coming off torn up knees. Who is the third? The deal is reportedly for 2 years 9.6 mill with 5.4 guaranteed. I don’t see how you don’t sign this deal. If he isn’t the same player the money lost is minimal. If he is the same or better player as pre ACL tear you have him at a bargain price for 2019. I also don’t see how this would affect the the need to another WAr in rounds 4-7.
5 tech John Jenkins is back. Fun fact, Jenkins had the same amount of tackles in 2017 with the bears as Charles Leno did. Charles Leno had 5 tackles in 2017. You may remember how the bears were seemingly on defense 100% of the time in the first four weeks. It baffles me how some people seem to think Mike Glennon got hosed by the bears and "never got a real chance"...... Eh......I'm not putting a round constriction on when a WR should be drafted other than "not round 1." If one of the best in the class like Sutton, Kirk, Miller or Ridley is there round 2, I'm for taking a WR round 2. I think there's a pretty good shot of that too, but it would depend who's on the board at that point and what Pace will do round 1.
Since the Bears don’t have a third as of right now, and seeing as how they need so much help at G and OT, as well as a 5 tech, an ILB, a CB, and an edge, I’m sticking with my rounds 4-7. Historically it seems like WR is a position where late round guys have had some good success, espcecially when put into the right system.
@patg006 @BearsWillWin @EvertonBears or anyone really, do you want to run the Bears in the Official Mock that starts on the 11th? Mongo seems to be gone still.
