    Rusty?

    Who is that?

Rusty Staub was the first star player for the expos in their first year. He learned to speak french in one month and promoted the game.

He's also one of the best pinch hitters of all-time.

I nailed it... thought he looked familiar. He played briefly in Detroit, that's how I remember him, lol.

Six time all-star, Le Grand Orange.

I remember watching him pinch hit for the expos when he came back in '79.

I was an expos fan for a while. I remember Ken Singleton playing there, Rose, Carter and Alou. I really wish they still existed, but I'm living in the past, lol.

( I think Singleton played for them )

I only remenber singleton on the orioles, but he was an expo in the early 70s. My memories were the golden years ('78 to'82). The rick monday hr off steve rogers was the pinacle moment for every expo fan.
We used to dream about an all canadian WS. This was very possible in '94 when the expos were in first place and then they had the strike. The strike just killed the expos, they had an incredible team that year.

Albert Pujols hits career home run No. 615

Albert Pujols rekindled his ascent up baseball's all-time home run leaderboard on Thursday, hitting career homer No. 615.

White Sox DH Matt Davidson drilled three home runs against the Royals on Opening Day Thursday, becoming the first player to hit that many home runs in the season’s first game since the Tigers’ Dmitri Young on April 4, 2005, also against the Royals. The other players to do it since 1908: Tuffy Rodes for the Cubs against the Mets on April 4, 1994, and George Bell for the Blue Jays against the Royals on April 4, 1988.

I'd like to thank Joe Kelly and Carson Smith for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and for costing my fantasy team 8 points in the process.

Three days into the 2018 season, the Cardinals finally have themselves a closer. Free agent reliever Greg Holland signed a one-year, $14 million pact with the team, according to an announcement made Saturday. An additional report from MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand suggests that Holland will be eligible to earn awards-based incentives, though the specifics of that agreement are not yet known. Since the righty rejected the $17.4 million qualifying offer issued by the Rockies last fall, the Cardinals will be forced to relinquish their second-round pick in the 2018 draft and $500,000 of international bonus pool funds.

Holland, 32, is on the cusp of his eighth season in the majors. While he’s five years removed from his peak performance with the Royals in 2013 — which saw him deliver a career-best 47 saves, sub-2.00 ERA, and 3.0 fWAR — he still has something to bring to the table. The right-hander bounced back in 2017 after undergoing Tommy John surgery and polished off his one-year gig in Colorado with a 3.61 ERA, 4.1 BB/9 and 11.0 SO/9 in 57 1/3 innings. He also led the NL with 58 games finished and 41 saves.

Giancarlo Stanton's riveting stat line so far:

3 HR, 2 doubles, 4 walks, 12 strikeouts, no singles.

It all computes to a 1.029 OPS for a guy who is 2 for 20, with 12 K's, when he doesn't hit the ball over the fence.

I heard he got booed after going 0-5.

phils 1-4. when is the Gabe Kepler experiment over with? this guy is a train wreck with his bullpen management and his continuing benching of Alfaro and Kingery. I don't think he lasts another month at this rate.

He's being criticized quite a bit for his Bull Pen decisions... I think he's on thin ice too.
