QB's are so frickin' prima donna. Years of being BMOC from junior to college. I really need a gypsy 13 yr old girl to look into their eyes and rattle some bones and read me their TD/INT ratio on their palms.
“If you pass on him you’ll regret it” equals your 4th ranked guy. Damn! You must really like the other 3.
One of the biggest attributes in the NFL is having a QB that can pick up a 3rd and 8. This sounds easy, just 8 yards. Tough to do consistently.
I said there is "something about him that screams that" RT.....Gimme a break. Don't just take part of the sentence, and then question it. I'm still evaluating like everybody else...let's not get carried away.
Okay. Let’s not get carried away. But how are you going to say a guy is your 4th ranked guy, compare him to Tom Brady, and then be shocked when I ask how he isn’t your top ranked guy? It’s not like you said he might be the next Jared Goff. Seems like you exaggerated for a response. Here’s the response. Only 4th?
Im just sayin, maybe he is...lol! Why can't you just accept it as conversation, and not something I've etched in stone? geezus...
I'm okay with whomever the Browns take....Trying to decide between the top 4 would be easy for me. I'd take Baker Mayfield. But the NFL doesn't base everything off of production. More times than not it's about projection, as we all know... Personally, I think all the geniuses should just look to last season...Who was the best QB in college? Watson, by a mile......Who transitioned the best to the NFL? Watson, by a mile.... I know for sure that Baker Mayfield is a QB...Is he a better NFL prospect than Rosen, Darnold and Allen? idk...
I take stuff too literally I suppose. Just the way you brought him up I was expecting him to be your top guy.
A QB isn't drafted for year 1, but sure Watson was the best year 1 QB. I'd look at certain traits, I mean some systems can have QBs throw for 5000 yards and a lot of simple reads a lot of screens (for example ) there is quite a bit of imagination when it comes to prospects, and the situation they land in is important. The draft is a beginning not an end. There is a video around that Hue Jackson called Baker Mayfield, "The Pied-Piper of Oklahoma football" and I can't say I don't disagree. (I agree) He is a leader, and after week 3, he might lead a player meeting. Because one thing Baker Mayfield is NOT is a loser. Part of the evaluation (which is and isn't) on the field, is the mental makeup of the player. Can only see so much of a player on the field. Part of what makes evaluations harder for draftniks is because pieces of the puzzle are missing.
lol. I don't know how you got there. It was just to spark convo...but honestly, the more I research Rosen, the more I like. Two months ago, I was calling him an injury prone statue. Now, i see the most pro ready QB. A guy that REALLY impressed me at the combine....When you watch Rosen go through the paces, ya can't deny, he looks like an NFL QB...He has "Brady-like" qualities, which I know is an absurd comparison, but it worked. Accuracy. Intelligence. height, arm strength....The only question is; why didn't he win more? And quite honestly, I'm looking more a Mora as far as that goes...
UCLA had some defensive injuries and did not have the depth that they usually do. Offensively, UCLA had some moment with the run, but with two players destined in this draft, they did not run consistently. Overall, Josh didn't overachieve and I do believe play calling is the problem.
My apologies for hi-jacking the draft thread...Just wanted to talk some football. Can't wait till the 26th...
Well let’s talk football then. Next up, Tim’s guy (Mason Rudolph). I like his arm. Throws a pretty deep ball. Saw him miss a couple open post patterns, but he hit the next ones. Has a decent motion. Usually makes good decisions, didn’t see much “WTF was that” through 3-4 games. I just hate trying to scout QBs out of such spread, one look, read-option schemes. It’s hard to tell what the QB is processing. He basically reads the end, and there’s a designed downfield shot. Doesn’t read the defense in a traditional pocket sense. Or deal with progressions. I like him overall. Might be my #4.
