I'd argue the rotation was interference itself actually. Look again. Lu moves because the Nashville player turns him with his stick which in turn makes i a loose puck. I might have to go back on what I said and say it was a good interference call.

    OT in Vancouver... 4-4

Penalty right off the bat and Vegas will go 4 on 3 to start the OT.

Markstrom saved the Nucks Canadian bacon a few times... Shootout.

Was hoping to see a Sedin goal to win it, but nope.

Theodore scores the game winner in round 4 of the shootout... Vegas wins.

Great tribute to the Sedins right after the shootout was over. The Sedins received a standing o' and all the Vegas players came out on the ice and stick tapped the ice in applause to the twins. Pretty cool to see.

1 more game at Vancouver and the era ends.

nah-they made their own bed with this mess. it's on them. they need to lose every game and florida win the rest to NOT get in the playoffs or some collapse like that.

  7. skinny123 Guest

They should be ok, all they have to do is get 1 pt and florida loses one game.

If the Panthers win out (96 pts), the Flyers will need to win one and at least tie, of their remaining two games.
If the Panthers lose one of three (94 pts), the Flyers will need 1 point from their remaining two games.
A scenario in which the two teams are tied leads to a Panthers playoff entry.

Again, I think it's a stretch to expect they'll beat Boston twice, with a back-to-back thrown in there with the Sabres for good measure. But, if you're a Philly fan, you're nervous that it's close, and even more nervous that you're now likely playing Boston / Tampa.

^^ a first rd exit was facing them anyways regardless of who they played. their best chance was maybe vs Washington and that's still a loss. Everyone else would kick their ass. They have no true goaltender and their star prospects are ineligible to call up for the post-season if they made it in. Just not their year to contend. A nice season and a real big comeback season for Giroux and Voracek, but it was not meant to be for serious Cup contention.

Duncan Keith with the game-winning PPG with less than 10 seconds in regulation fucks the Blues over hard.

Kings clinched thanks to that and Ducks clinch now as well.

Avs vs Blues for the final spot in the West and it may come down to the last day when they play each other.

My prediction that is sure to change by the end of the day:

#1 seeds in conference/division first. Higher seed listed first.

    Tampa Bay vs New Jersey
    Boston vs Toronto

    Washington vs Philadelphia
    Columbus vs Pittsburgh

    Winnipeg vs Colorado
    Nashville vs Minnesota

    Vegas vs Anaheim
    Los Angeles vs San Jose

Lightning win the Presidents Trophy on ROW.

--I think we've all seen when players whack at it and no stoppage and a goal is allowed. why is Lu's body angle a question here? I've never heard of a goalie's angle determining a good goal or not ? it could be a goal, blown dead or disallowed. like the NFL catch rule, is there a CLEAR distinction of a good goal vs a bad one? again, I've seen players whack the shit out the goalie looking for a loose puck and when it comes loose they bang it home.

  15. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

Nobody touched the puck, Catfish. They only touched the goalie. Moving the goalie so that the puck comes loose isn't within the rules, nor is it what you're talking about. If they had made contact with the puck between Lu's pads, I'd give it to them all day. But the puck came from not because it was touched, but because the goalie was.

sorry dline it was too close to call. 2 sticks were near the puck and Lu's glove. I assumed 1 or both sticks touched the puck a little bit. to be honest, how they missed it completely is a little shocking. lol. if the Flyers don't get in, it's their own fault. 82 games and you're watching other teams games and scores hoping them to lose, etc. take care of business on your own end and you wouldn't have to worry about anyone else. all those OT losses are biting them in the ass now.

  17. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

I don't think we're seeing remotely the same thing, Catfish. One stick belonged to a defenseman. The other belonged to the player turning Luongo, with the stick planted firmly in his glove. That player had tried to whack at the puck and couldn't get it, prior. I really don't see how there's a different interpretation, here, given replay.

bf the stick was firmly in the glove - where was it? going after the puck ! same as the defensemen. they both whacked at it and missed it. it went in Lu's glove seconds after this.

it doesn't matter now dline, you're team got the call. good luck this weekend. should be fun. i'll be watching hockey and the masters golf tournament.

  19. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

Yeah, but, the puck wasn't in his glove. It was between his leg pads. The offensive player takes a whack, and can't get it. The defenseman doesn't whack the puck (why would he?). The offensive player then puts his stick firmly in the goalie's glove, nowhere near the puck, and proceeds to turn him. I don't understand what you're watching.

You're right, though - it doesn't matter. Realistically, it's a stretch for Florida to get in. Philly would need to lose one and Florida go perfect, or Philly lose both, and Florida still take two. It's definitely possible, but with the games on the schedule, I'm doubtful. I've just been enjoying good hockey, either way.

Panthers are good, period. They are a fun team to watch play. I'm hoping they get in and leap-frog those guy's from Philly!!!

    Go Cats Go !
