  1. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

There just may be more ACTIVE steel mills in or around Cleveland now than in Pittsburgh.

    Classic misdirection!!

Sorry, got to go back to this. This is a terrible take.

    Cleveland - #1, #4
    New York Jets - #3
    Buffalo - possible trade-up to #2 or #4
    Denver - #5

All have been strongly-linked to Mayfield. New York and Buffalo, in particular, have a great system to plug-and-play Mayfield and don't have the same veteran presence that Cleveland (can't believe I'm writing that) and Denver have in Taylor and Keenum, respectively.

In fact, I don't see scenario in which Mayfield falls *OUT* of the Top 5 picks unless everyone - and I mean everyone - was over-hyping these QBs.

Wouldn't that just blow up everyone's mock drafts if Lamar Jackson ends up being the QB taken at #1 overall?

Mayfield and Rudolph will be the last two QBs picked in round 1.

Who are they supposedly fooling? I am starting to wonder about the front office. These guys are spending time and money on things they have no intention on doing. Maybe they should bring in Rudolph also. They need to keep their eye on the ball and quit worrying about what other teams are doing. They have a hard enough time getting their own shit together.

You only have two quarterbacks going in Round 1? Bold prediction, friend.

No Mayfield and Rudolph will be the 5 & 6 QBs taken in rd 1

Actually, I was just being silly with the "classic misdirection" line... Lamar is my QB2B in this class and I'd be more than okay with the Browns taking him over Darnold or Allen.

They've maintained all along that they see 4-5 QBs worth taking at the top, and everything they've done since then fits that narrative.

This is easily the most critical offseason in Cleveland history and getting the QB right is paramount to future success. Nothing wrong with being thorough.

You ever watch the Seahawks? He is always rolling out so he can find a Wr. I envision the same for Mayfield. Even Taylor has to roll out a lot. They are not pocket passers. Teams in the NFL want pocket passers. Running QBs eventually suffer a serious injury and then when they aren't mobile anymore their game sucks.

I was more thinking Johnny Manziel floating on a swan, that way every time someone saw it they would ask "who'd you lose the bet with"?

That's funny I was thinking Mayfield and Rudolph could end up being the first two QBs taken...

    Andrew Luck injury plagued
Josh Allen, had shoulder surgery and yet another AC Joint injury on his throwing arm...
Aaron Rodgers, multiple collar bone injuries, leg calf tear and two concussions
Josh Rosen, has had two cited concussions prior to entering the NFL

Yet, Baker Mayfield, who by all accounts is still the top rated "Pocket Passer" is the one you want to hang an injury issue on as a "running QB"?

I was told we want Sam Darnold or Josh Allen because their greatest strengths are the ability to create outside of the pocket. They're both actually only adequate pocket passers.

    Allen: 61% comp.
    Darnold: 67% comp.
    Mayfield: 75% comp.

^^^^^ There's literally not a *SINGLE* category Baker Mayfield isn't the best quarterback in besides height.

Were he 6'2", every draftnik would be in unison, the contract would already be in place, and the New York Giants would be on the clock.

If? If he was 6'2", someone would still say he was too short. Drew Brees was a good QB coming into the NFL and he was pick 1 of rd 2. Teams just don't like short QBs.

@Tim... you know how in Twitter you can mute conversations with certain words? Any chance we can get there here? Or just apply "Josh Allen" filter to me personally?

    :)
