seems like both sides are mad at each other. The Pats are mad at Gronk for not committing to the 2018 season and Gronk is tired of doing things the "Patriot Way." No happiness in NE. If Gronk leaves, I'm sure he will have a ton of teams wanting his services.
I can see both sides to the argument. I personally think if the Browns go QB at 1, the Giants will take Barkley at 2. If the Browns take Barkley at 1, the Giants trade down. The Jets already traded up to 3, so if another team trades up to 2, then its probably a forgone conclusion that two QB's would be off the board before Cleveland picks again at 4. The big question is do the teams picking at 2 and 3 think Mayfield is the #1 or #2 QB in the draft? Who knows?
Personally, in the GMO Mock draft that was held on this website, I took Barkley #1 overall, then came back to take Mayfield #4 overall..But, that was because I feel like I know all these guys on this site and who they will take. In real life, I am more worried about losing Mayfield than I am losing Barkley...However, I also have a sinking feeling that Mayfield won't be the QB of choice from this regime. I think they'll make the "safe" choice in Darnold. With that said, I wish they would go ahead and take Barkley #1, but if the QB is Mayfield, I would rather they just take him rather than risk him not being there at #4. I am fine with a few other RBs, which one should be available either at #33, or they have plenty of ammo to move up for one, if Barkley is not there at #4. Frankly, my best case scenario would go more like: 1. Baker Mayfield 4. Bradley Chubb 33. Sony Michel 35. CB/LB/S/OT/WR, best player available
From the SPECULATION Files... As the chatter and speculation continues regarding a possible trade of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski — chatter and speculation that has not been refuted by the team or the player — the first clear report has emerged that a trade is coming. Ken Laird of WEEI, senior producer of the Kirk & Callahan show, reports that Gronkowski will be traded in the next couple of weeks. Sure, Laird doesn’t have a reputation for being a breaker of news. But he produces one of the most popular shows on one of the most popular sports talk stations in the Boston market. Chances are that he’s heard something from someone about some sort of somewhat plausible move that will happen someday between now and the draft. The fact that the move is dubbed as occurring “in the next couple of weeks” fits with the notion that, if the Patriots will be acquiring a first- or second-round pick for Gronkowski, they prefer to get the pick while the pick is on the clock. This will require the Patriots, Gronkowski, and his next team to keep everything completely quiet. But the Patriots have proven time and again that they know how to persuade/coerce others to go along with a vow of silence, or else. So it makes sense to continue to keep an eye on this one, especially once the draft begins. (PFT) ___________ _____________________ I'd welcome him in Minnesota!
HAHA. Every team can say that then. Zach Ertz or Gronk ? I thought you needed a TE. You have a decent one. Gronk is a much better upgrade.
I want no part of Gronk and smart teams will be wise to steer clear of him. Without Belichick and Brady to keep him somewhat inline he will implode on what ever team takes him.
The NFC is going to be crazy. My prediction: 1. Eagles 2. Rams 3. Packers 4. Saints 5. Vikings 6. Falcons So many teams left out that could make it... pretty much anybody but the Bears, Bucs, Redskins and likely Giants.
My biased opinion... cant help meself. I like the Vikings with Cousins and a healthy run game to compliment the passing game... the defense will be stellar again and I think they play with a chip on their shoulders with the sense of having unfinished business to take care of. Eagles are loaded for a repeat in the East, but wont be as hungry as the Vikings. Rams are going to resemble the 'Greatest Show on Turf' again... Saints will have a run game a passing attack, just gotta play defense... I also put them in the category of hungry and win now. Falcons are a mystery to me and I think Green Bay even with a healthy Rodgers are overrated and will struggle running and defending. 1. Vikings 2. Eagles 3. Rams 4. Saints 5. Falcons 6. Packers
Not much love for the team that's won the NFC East twice in the last four years, will have Zeke back for a full 16 games. smdh
