Not sure if it means anything one way or the other, but Mayfield is scheduled to be in town for two days. Second day is probably uniform fitting and picking out his new pad.

Statement no one really says but should: "If Josh Allen were 6'2", he'd be taken somewhere after Round 4 in this draft."

 

I thought we already dispensed with the notion that Mayfield was too short after I dug up his college O-line heights and compared them to the Browns'.

If the Browns don't take Mayfield at #1 (or at #2 with a trade-down), the Jets will take him at #3.

 

If there was a way to work out the logistics of it, I would be interested in betting on who will have the best career. But you need at least 5 years to even have a clue how this type of bet would work out.
I would take Allen and whoever wants would take Mayfield. The bounty would have to be pretty good for a bet that would take 5 years to even have a chance to come to fruitation.

 

I think teams are moving up to ensure that they don't get stuck with Mayfield.

I think they're moving up because there's blood in the water. There's a lot of bad teams that need QBs.

Arizona has arguably the worst quarterback situation in the NFL right now. Buffalo and Miami aren't much better and they're competing in the AFC East with the Jets who just moved up for a QB. New England rumors continue to churn and there a ton of folks who think 2018 is Brady's last rodeo. Every team who got a good one in 2004 is about to need a replacement - Chargers, Giants, and Steelers. Indianapolis isn't good even with Luck and he's got to be in the "in doubt" category moving forward. Denver bought themselves some time with Keenum, but that's no guarantee either. Then Cleveland is in the driver's seat at #1.

On top of that, 2019 class is garbage.

 

You could make an excuse for the Brown stain on your arm, but a Brown's fan couldn't explain a Steelers Logo aeay.
