    Haiku for Josh Rosen

    How dare your franchise
    Quarterback be a smart guy.
    Gen Y's are the worst.

What it does show, is that his accuracy might not be as bad as you indicate...He capable of dropping dimes. I know he's got some shitty tape, but he also has some that makes me think he might be great....

    Haiku for Baker

    QBs like Baker,
    Come along once a decade.
    Lock for Hall of Fame.

I will happily concede that when he's on, it's fantastic. The problem is all the times he's off.

And he's not an X's and O's football guy. I posted the interview with Dan Orlovsky earlier, but he talks about watching Allen's film and where he'll make calls at the line then be completely shocked when the defense does something different. Being able to read a defense pre-snap is a MAJOR requirement for Haley's offensive scheme. So your QB coach is taking on not only a guy who needs massive refinement of mechanics and footwork, but who also needs to learn how to read a defense, play from the pocket, AND improve his accuracy.

I want Mayfield because I know he's a good QB. We don't have to project with him. I'm sick of seeing the Browns get burned because they took a guy based on projections over production....But that's how the NFL is. And if Cleveland takes Allen, I won't be that shocked.

37 on the IQ test...lol! Maybe with a year to sit and watch Taylor, we can develope the man with the golden arm.

I think I'm okay with any of the top 4....They all have NFL stud QB potential...I said at the beginning I'm not getting my heart set on one, and I meant it.

Just an aside, but the IQ test was developed as a way to gage French elementary school students (K) and is heavily skewed in its questioning.

If we draft Mayfield, I'll be ecstatic.

If we draft Rosen, I'll be happy.

If we draft Jackson, I'll be okay.

If we draft Darnold, I'll be disappointed.

If we draft Allen, I'll be rooting for a new team.

One of the first stats I look at to get a quick gauge on how much intelligence a quarterback possibly possesses for playing the position is the TD/INT comparison.

It's not a perfect measurement of how intelligent a guy is out of the huddle, but it's a damn good indicator of whether or not he's smart enough to protect the football and find ways to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Another thought, which I would chalk up to "tin-foil conspiracy theory" for most teams but after witnessing the slow-motion car crash that has been Hue Jackson in Cleveland, I would 100% believe this is another reason for the "smokescreens":

You're not the only one... that's one of the Parcell's rules for quarterbacks - must have at least a 2:1 ratio. The top six prospects (Mayfield, Rosen, Jackson, Darnold, Rudolph, and Allen) all pass the 2:1 ratio. Some have better ratios than others, obviously...

    Allen: 2.1:1
    Rosen: 2.3:1
    Jackson: 2.6:1
    Darnold: 2.7:1
    Rudolph: 3.5:1
    Mayfield: 4.4:1

Applying *ALL* the Parcells rules to these QBs and you get a clear winner:

    1. Be a three-year starter
    2. Be a senior in college
    3. Graduate from college
    4. Start 30 games
    5. Win 23 games
    6. Have a 2:1 (at least) touchdown-to-interception ratio
    7. Complete at least 60-percent of passes

    2/7 - Darnold
    3/7 - Allen, Rosen
    4/7 - Jackson
    7/7 - Mayfield, Rudolph

I think one of the most bypassed stories of the draft this season is the correlating numbers between these two and how differently they are being perceived by most of the talking heads.

There's at least one person with Rudolph at the top of their board.

Jason La Canfora on 92.3 the Fan in Cleveland:
    • Bills "desperate" to trade into Top 5 for a QB
    • Bills/Browns trade "definitely possible"
    • Odell Beckham will be traded
    • Browns absolutely in contention for Beckham
    • Does not like Josh Allen, thinks Browns probably go with Darnold
    FWIW...

They were discussing this on Cleveland Browns Daily yesterday as well...No real information has come out publicly since Dorsey took over, why would it start now?

Did ANYONE see the Tyrod Taylor trade coming? It was reported when it was happening..
Did anyone see the Jarvis Landry trade coming? It was reported when it was happening..

Now there were rumors that both could possibly happen, as well as 20 other trade scenarios. But no one, not even Schefter, was reporting that the Browns and Bills/Dolphins were in serious trade talks and felt it was imminent...then, well, it happened.

The Browns have stated frankly, their board is not set yet, as have other GMs through out the league. I would say they are pretty close, but until all the visits are done, I don't think they definitively settle on a QB. Dorsey has done an admirable job of closing the leaks. I don't think it will open back up that quickly.

Lends a bit more credence to the intentional "smokescreen" is actually Dorsey flushing out the leaks.

Surprise, surprise. The pied piper of greatest quarterback prospects of all time wins again:
