    SAS??? I'm a little confused.

How exactly did John Dorsey become the master of the QB smoke screen? In 2014 KC didn't pick either Manzel or Carr. In 2017 the Chiefs traded up and grabbed Mahomes. No need for a smoke screen there either. IMHO.

So when did they use a smoke screen?

He is using it on Brown’ Fans, they think they are getting Mayfield when he is picking Allen.

    This was a great listen:

Orlovsky's a Darnold guy but this is still a pretty unbiased, professional QB opinion on the QB prospects.

This notion came from a Chief's sports writer. They gave examples of 2014 and 2016.
I am deferring to them as I obviously wasn't following Kansas City or John Dorsey.

So if this is the M.O. of Dorsey, Brown's fans should be expecting them to take someone other than a QB at #1.

SAS , the facts are no team is taking an undersized QB with the number one pick. No GM is ready to put his job on the line for a 6’ QB. Most years a QB like Mayfield wouldn’t even be in the first rd conversation period. To be in the conversation for #1 overall is a major achievement for him. He probably wouldn’t be drafted in the top 10 unless the Browns use their 4 on him. So if you guys don’t go QB #1 look for him at #4. You guys get Barkley and one of the top 4 QBs with the WRs you currently have Gordon available obviously your offense will scare some teams.

The additional facts are that GMs make terrible decisions all the time, often surrounding "safe" or "prototypical" players -- and *especially* at the quarterback position.

Drew Brees and Russell Wilson were undersized QBs and I bet if you gave 32 teams the first overall pick and a mulligan, 32 teams would do something differently.

I don't disagree with you that it's going to be highly irregular to take a 6'0" quarterback #1 overall. But sometimes the risk is worth the reward and in this case, Mayfield is the top of his class (and many others) without a doubt. The statuesque or even prototypically-built QBs fare much more poorly than the shorter ones these days.

^^^^^ Technically, since he cleared six-and-a-half he’ll be listed as 6’1” in programs and the internets.

240 pounds because he weighed in at 212 soaking wet.

  11. Russell Wilson is an avg QB...stop putting him in the same class as Brees

Allen was launching missiles at his pro day of 80 freaking yards. Just send Gordon deep nobody can stop that.

    My heart is on Mayfield

    My money is on Allen

    My fear is on Darnold.

    Give me Chubb at 4

    Haiku for Josh Allen:
    Cannon for an arm,
    Accuracy sucks out loud.
    Should be a tight end.

    Haiku for Sam Darnold:

    Some say happily,
    He's a poor man's Andrew Luck.
    How's that working out?
