That's a tough player to get a real good read on what GMs and scouts may view his potential value as. I've seen him linked to just about every team in the bottom of the first at one point or another, yet the large majority expect to see him slide to the second. I have Justin Reid ranked ahead of him with a decent margin in score, but I won't knock that pick for the Panthers.
I will eventually go back and watch some more Justin Reid tape. Cause the first time through it I must have missed something for how highly regarded he seems to be in scouting circles. Or it’s Keanu Neal all over again. Still shocked he went in the 1st. I often underestimate how much professional teams project their hopes on a style of play or an athletic specimen. I’d still take Reid 2 rounds before Neal, for the record.
Reid's a player that I placed in my initial top 4 back in October when just about everyone had him near the bottom or completely out of the top 10. My score for him right now puts him very close to Derwin and I still have to finish up my overall totals so I'm not ruling out that he may end up with a higher score than James (both Reid and Allen were above James after the second round of scoring). His buzz slowly built up and then the combine kind of opened it up for everyone to push him up their rankings.
