BROWNS SELECT BAKER MAYFIELD, QB - OKLAHOMA "If there's anybody that can turn the fortunes of the Cleveland Browns around, it would be me." - Baker Mayfield
Gotta like how that worked out. Grab Barkley at #1 and when we get to #4, BOTH my top 2 QB prospects are sitting there...Probably should have taken the other guy for the sake of matching what the Browns will do, but in this instance I went with my personal preference...
Tampa wanted to trade ahead of me huh? Colts will of course listen to trade offers but are good to pick after already getting a sweet trade down in real life.
You must really like Chubb because I will be shocked if Tampa takes him if he is there at 7 since they have so many other needs and edge rusher is not one of them after getting JPP and Vinny Curry.
I will use my entire clock if I have to. It's too important of a spot not to just to have someone log on a few minutes later and want to trade.
I like the move, u can never have enough good pass rusher. Eagles, Broncos, Seahawks, and Giants won superbowls with that approach.
Have you seen JPP lately? I don't really think he has been used correctly since his hand injury but he just isn't an "impact" guy anymore. The injuries have worn him down and for some reason the giants think he should play 96% of the snaps and then wonder why he gets hurt or is worn out at the end of games. Since the giants were kind enough to pay the first 1/3rd of his contract his value isn't stupid expensive to the Bucs but you can't expect consistent production out of that guy. You can expect one game where he gets 3 sacks and doesn't do much else and then a season of middling play that ultimately results in a trip to the IR. Hell even with JPP on the roster I think Chubb was a guy the giants were seriously looking at this off season.
They also have Noah Spence(IR last year) and Gholston(ya nothing special). I don't see the investment of a 1st round pick unless they see in Chubb what the Browns saw in Myles Garrett.
I am the Colts and will trade down. I have a player in mind but will use my entire clock if need be. (it isn't too long)
Along those lines - For my personal totals, Chubb has a higher score than Garrett did last season as a true 4-3 DE. Garrett scores higher as a 3-4 OLB (Myles holds the highest all-time score for that position) Chubb's score is very close to Khalil Mack's as a DE. I think it's a solid pick regardless of the moves made to add punch to the edge.
I just think the Bucs did everything so they don't have to worry about the edge this year. They must really like a few options elsewhere. But these are SportsFanatic's Bucs. I am just trying to have some conversation. I am just glad he traded up as he wasn't my first option for the Colts.
I'm up for another 20 minutes, then I'll be forced to pick and then the Broncos will have someone come on to trade 2 minutes later.
Damn it. Munoz I have my pick but my trade PM just got back to me a minute ago. Can I have a couple minutes for him to reply back with yes or no?
