And... Do I think it's a surprise that most people are linking the presumptive #1 overall pick dating back to 1/2/2017 to Cleveland? No. Do I think it's a surprise that the two most-represented athletes (both Darnold and Allen are signed to massive-agency CAA) are the discussion at #1 overall? No. Do I think it's telling that the Browns are only tangentially linked these days to Baker Mayfield and we hear practically nothing about Josh Rosen? No. At the end of the day, a pick that isn't Mayfield will be a sharp deviation from Dorsey's archetype and contrast very sharply with his own search criteria.
I threw up in my mouth a little today after I actually had to have the discussion and explain to someone how Mayfield does not = Manziel.
Fair enough but with the exception of Lym and Bluez Manziel wasn't = to Manziel on this board about 48 months ago. The majority of people on this board didn't just defend Johnny Asswipe when his volatile behavior was mentioned, they attacked anyone who had the nerve to question him. Might I suggest you guys be a little bit more willing to acknowledge what you don't know.
For the record, if not for his addiction, I would welcome Manziel back TODAY. I still think that kid has what it takes to succeed in this league from a football standpoint. It's the mental aspect that he failed miserably. There is no way to know until someone is drafted...and NO, Mayfield does not exhibit the same "signs" as Manziel. He is not on every tabloid page out with the posse livin' the dream. He has a lot of passion on the football field...

It's more what you shouldn't be saying.... "Mayfield isn't Manziel!" You don't know that. You're guessing. There have been some signs that there are some issues with maturity.
Actually there were posters in here that predicted what would happen almost to the letter and several of you guys basically called them idiots. So you've learned nothing.
First of all, that's what a FAN should do. Embrace their team. A la Irish. He doesn't want Darnold, but if he is picked, he will support the hell out of him, because he supports the team. As for "You don't know that", yes, you basically do. Manziel grew up entitled, hustling grown ups on the golf course as a kid, developed a drinking problem in high school. As he grew, like a true addict, he replaced his addiction with something new. Gammbling>alcohol>drugs(?). He never had to earn a thing in his life which is probably part of why he fizzled. Back to my vomit inducing discussion, IF YOU LOOK AT JUST ON THE FIELD, there is no comparison beyond height. Manziel looks like he never got into his "man size" and was still built like a high school kid. Mayfield is thick through the middle, bigger legs, and Quinn-esque arms.
They are two completely different people beach...I'm not guessing. That's a fact. The idiots that continue the mantra that they are the same guy are the ones with the problem....
