  2. I don’t think he is considered going #1

That's a possibility, but then you are also projecting that as more probability if you take him at #1 overall. You'd have to be willing to gamble that you know for sure that is the reason why he is hesitant. If it turns out that he stutters because he is slow to make progressions, than it's a completely different level of problem to overcome.

Scouting a quarterback when he's got that rhythm is tough. Take a guy like Benkert. You go and watch his Miami film and he is lacing throws all over and looks comfortable doing it. He has a couple other games where he is like that for a half or a quarter, but then there are his off beat days...

Those days are not quite as good, lol.

I submit that the people to which owners and front office have access, aren't going to torpedo one of their institution's prized players. They're going to gild the lily. If you want to learn about what type of person a player really is, then talk to the waitress at the restaurant or diner frequented by the player. Talk to bartenders and baristas. Talk to people who have interacted with the player that have no vested interest in whether or not the player succeeds or fails in the NFL.

I'm not asking you to give him a pass. You have your opinion and I don't expect it's going to change. I'm obviously projecting what I think Allen can be at the next level. Only time will tell.

Beach, look at his pro day...he missed throws against air. I don't know why you are so convinced he will fix his issues when it counts against a defense across from him.

If his skill level was that highly touted, why choose Wyoming where you will have to deal with shortcomings on the offensive line and wide receivers? From a coaching standpoint, why lean on a horrible running game, if you had the #1 overall pick NFL level guy there at your disposal. If this guy was THAT great, why not use him as a tool to recruit higher weapons for the offense? Maybe, what you are looking for simply isn't there. Being a cannon arm passer will never out dual being an intellectual QB, even it their arm is suspect...which is why top programs choose these types over the previous...

Just curious... what impact do his multiple throwing-shoulder injuries have on your grade?

And I'll stipulate that this is a reasonable take.

But I'll also add that there are people within the building that will speak their mind, so while coaches and GMs are going to have conversations within the building before, during and after the workout, not all of those conversations are going to be with 'yes' men. They are also going to be with family, friends, training staff and a plethora of others.

I know that a lot of people think these things are a waste of time and that they are pointless in making any kind of decision on a player, but there are reasons why coaches, GMs and owners make these trips and take them seriously.

Look at his senior bowl. They put talent around him and he put every ball on the money, showed great touch.

You've scouted Allen and you don't know why he only had an offer from Wyoming?

I'm not suggesting they (front office personnel) don't take Pro Days seriously. I merely question the validity of the information gleaned from people within a college program's organization. Yes men or not, they all benefit from that organization's players going high in the NFL draft.

Allen went to the combine where the doctors are notoriously thorough. There was no report of an issue, no medical re-check. I'm not doctor but if they don't have an issue with him than why should I?

And I think your right to question it, but regardless of how anyone may feel about the quality or accuracy of the content provided, it is still utilized in one fashion or another in the decision making process.

There is certainly some risk. I'm willing to admit that. But the guy has an arm unlike any I've ever seen and I know what that does for offenses. There's is just nothing you can't draw up on game day and in a league that favors the offensive side of the ball having the ability to put anything you want in your playbook is really hard to defend. He's the anti-Cousins to me. Kirk does what he does very well but there are throws his coaches don't even attempt and can't attempt because he doesn't have the arm.

I already mentioned before but I really didn't even look into Allen until the Senior Bowl. I read what everyone was saying about him and took it as gospel and then watched the Senior Bowl and thought they must be out of their damn minds. He couldn't have been more impressive that day. Pretty much used every club in the bag... mobility, pocket presence, play-making, ripped some throws, threw on the run, nice touch, PERFECT accuracy.

Here is what the Denver Broncos did on Baker Mayfield's pro day:

Which one improved their overall roster more? Remember one team won ZERO games and the other won five games in 2017.

I'd have to go back and watch it again, but didn't he miss wildly on his first couple of attempts before settling down on his second series?

And I'm honestly not trying to nitpick, but perfect in all capital letters is a bold statement, lol.

    Jarvis out here recruiting!

Friendly reminder that Browns' WR coach was Landry and Beckham's position coach at LSU.
