So Davis and Bradham both went for $8M. My overpaying was in line of me thinking they'd go for $8M each IRL. So I am happy with what I gave them.

 

Can we release a player based on breach of contract, and file a grievance with our commissioner to release any dead cap? Haha

Bengals were prepared, contract states that a policy violation on Burfict would nullify all guaranteed money. Hahaha

 

Sorry if this has already been asked, but when are end of season roster cuts?

 

We don’t really do them. BUT some guys find it interesting or informative to post what they project to be their final 53 just for fun.

 

Basically we are setting up our camp for the preseason. You don't have to worry about filling out your camp but don't try to cut them down. If you want an example look at the end of last year's discussion where I posted some of mine.

 

I assume we should now roll the players we drafted into their applicable position page using the contract dollar amounts I saw somewhere and remove the rookie pool amount used to calculate cap space?

 

You don't have to worry about that. Just post your roster anyway you feel like. Only do so if you are worried you'll wreck your cap and at this point there won't be any reason to worry about your cap.

 

Okay. I just don't think my OCD will allow me to do that and stop.

 

In that case, I believe the old adage to each their own may apply

 

So I just added my rookies and my cap looks busted...

I am under the top 53 by a hair and WAY over the all players with like 80 guys under contract. At this point we just need to be under the 53 with the assumption that I make the cuts necessary during the preseason right? I have a decent idea of how I am going to make it all work but no one wants to see a slew of minor transactions right?

Yep, you're good. For the offseason (which is what we're doing) you technically only have to stay under the cap based on top 51 base salaries + prorated bonuses + dead money.

If you want to do a slew of minor transactions, that's up to you. (I did a bunch of them myself, including signing several potential practice squad guys and trading for two more during the draft.) But you certainly don't have to, and most people don't bother.

 

I'm kissing the cap thanks to acquiring picks but the team will surely create wiggle space when more expensive players don't make the cut.

 

I would be remiss if I didn't take the time to thank Tim and the Mods for putting this exercise together and actually pulling it off. I can't imagine the amount of behind the scenes work that must have taken. I know I enjoyed every aspect of it (well, maybe not waiting for someone to show up during the draft) and I learned a lot from all of you guys.
