I can honestly make a solid case for 7 wins...But I won't, because revisiting that nightmare helps nothing. I like Tyrod Taylor too...After the last 50 Browns games or so, that we've all witnessed, Tyrod is truly a blessing for this franchise. I'm psyched because Tyrod has never had the kind of weapons we have right now. Hyde, Johnson, Gordon, Njoku, Landry, Coleman!!! I mean C'MON!! If that isn't exciting, ya need to just find a new sport. Of course it's even more exciting because we hired Todd Haley, and we haven't even hit the draft yet. Cause that's when Dorsey is gonna open up a can on the entire league..... Come September we will know in our hearts that the Browns are finally back....
Ha! Well, the cynic in me says it's easy to commit to Tyrod as the starter now when #1 isn't on the team and the other options are Cody "PTSD" Kessler and Kevin "White Lightning" Hogan.
^^^^^ Not the first (and certainly not the last) time I've seen Ward in the discussion. John Dorsey is the "traditional football guy". As such, QB, LT, DE, and CB are going to be the premier positions to draft/address. #1 - QB. DE - Myles Garrett. LT - obviously needs addressed, but this is a weak draft for that. Ward is a top player at a premium position... it bears keeping in mind. Dorsey's first round picks in Kansas City (by year): LT, DE, CB, QB
RE: Ward... Remember, Dorsey loves explosive athletes in his draft history. Key in on the jumps (broad, long) and in the case of defensive backs, timed speed. So how does Ward stack up?
It doesn't matter who is drafted, Tyrod is a professional. None of the rookies will be more ready to start a season than Tyrod. They may (hopefully) will have more potential, but they won't be ready for the start of the season, nor will they have the acumen to over take him mid-season. This will be a decision that is made post season 2019. If Tyrod looks the part and the rookie isn't gaining a lot of ground..I would look for them to tag Tyrod and give the rookie a second redshirt season. Tyrod is ridiculously better than Brock Osweiler..So when they cut him, I wasn't happy, but I wasn't surprised either. Brock was a pro, but he was a bad pro. Tyrod isn't a bad pro, but he isn't a guy that can put the team on his back either. I DO believe Taylor could take a team to a Super Bowl in the right situation. That team would have to be built perfectly and have multiple weapons that work harmoniously together. Tyrod isn't going to "build" the team, he is just a cog in the machine. We still need about 8 pieces for this team to be playoff contenders and I don't think they can be perfect in the draft and get them all...Hell, I will be happy if they hit on 3 out of their first and second round picks. I am looking more and more at the possibility of a trade down out of #4 though. It seems they are setting the team up NOT to draft Barkley. If we could get the Bills #12 and #22, I think I might just do it. That gives us 6 realistic chances of getting players that will help this team sooner than later. Barkley and Fitzpatrick are nice pieces that I would like to build around, but I don't think they have either of them in mind. So, I am staring down Chubb or Nelson and I think we could do better than that with two players at 12 and 22. Say it's Chubb in their thoughts... At 12, we could get equal impact, imho, out of Derwin James, Denzel Ward or Roquon Smith. If it's Nelson, we could get help on the line as well in the form of a Mike McGlinchey (which is a MUCH more pressing need than guard). Even if Nelson is the best to come out in a while, I just cannot fathom taking a guard at #4 when we already have two the caliber we have wrapped up in multi year contracts for the next 3-4 years. At #22, don't mess around, your #2 RB should be available there, just draft him, don't wait around for #33.
So, with the exception of Tom Brady, any team who wins a Super Bowl? I mean, I think Aaron Rodgers is about as perfect a QB that there is. He has one Super Bowl win. I'm a huge fan of Russell Wilson - 1 win. Big fan of Cam Newton - 1 appearance, 0 wins. Drew Brees is as prolific as they come - 1 win. For as good as all those guys are, none of them are taking a franchise to a Super Bowl. They're all the QB who can help you win one. Ultimately, we need a team to be built correctly to give us the 3-5 year window to compete and have that excellent QB who can lift the team to a win in the big game.
Yes...Which is why I think the Bills will be regretting what they have done as early as next year...It isn't easy finding even an average QB, doesn't matter how many draft picks you trade away to move up to take one. They had something in Tyrod that better than half the league doesn't/won't have...and now we finally have. I'll thank my lucky stars to have average...
Buffalo Defense: 18th points, 26th yards, 20th passing, 29th rushing Cleveland Defense: 31st points, 14th yards, 19th passing, 7th rushing LeSean McCoy: 1,586 yards from scrimmage, 8 total TDs, 3 fumbles Isaiah Crowell + Duke Johnson: 2,076 yards from scrimmage, 9 total TDs, 4 fumbles Tyrod Taylor (rushing): 427 yards, 4 TDs, 4 fumbles DeShone Kizer (rushing): 419 yards, 5 TDs, 9 fumbles So, as usual, you're 100% wrong. Here's the biggest difference: Tyrod Taylor (passing): 62.6% comp., 14:4 TD-INT, 6.7 YPA, 89.2 QB rating DeShone Kizer (passing): 53.6% comp., 11:22 TD-INT, 6.1 YPA, 60.5 QB rating Stop being wrong all the time, please.
Difference between 18th and 31st in points-allowed is 3.2 PPG. Perhaps, if our quarterback had played more like Tyrod Taylor and wasn't a complete turnover machine (averaged 2+ turnovers per game), the defense wouldn't have constantly been on the field and broken-down in the third- and fourth-quarters of games. Points for - 32nd (CLE), 22nd (BUF). Difference was 4.25 PPG. Running games were comparable. Passing touchdowns, Tyrod had a +3 advantage. Buffalo vs. Cleveland: Rushing TDs: 11 (CLE), 12 (BUF) Passing TDs: 15 (CLE), 16 (BUF) Diff. of 12 (0.75 PPG). So where are the missing points? Kicking (70 points - CLE; 116 points - BUF) and defense (6 - CLE; 24 - BUF).
He's #8 overall on my board right now, but that could change...In our GMO mock draft, he somehow slid all the way to #17, where I happily scooped him up for the Chargers. I watched him get passed as the BPA for 9 straight picks. I never dreamed he'd be there, so I had to adjust my strategy, but I wasn't going to pass on him......In fact, last night I snagged a player that you were excited about. So I took a closer look at Dante Pettis, and he was exactly what I needed. Earlier in the exercise I traded away the talented but overpaid Travis Benjamin...But anyway, thanks for the tip on Pettis. I got him right (IMO) at pick 4.24...Every year you mention a guy that I end up taking, where he probably wouldn't have been on my radar had I not read it first from you. Well done once again...
Playoffs vs 0-16 and I’m wrong...you use 2 guys to make a point...Taylor played great in the playoff game..show me his great stats lol
Because they split carries. LeSean McCoy: 287 carries, 1,138 rushing yards, 6 TD Isaiah Crowell + Duke Johnson: 288 carries, 1,201 rushing yards, 6 TD You said LeSean McCoy carried the team. He got nearly identical carries to Crowell/Johnson and produced identical TDs and fewer yards. So... wrong.
Not saying *Hubbard can't (won't) play left or right side, or that Shon Coleman won't either... just a reminder that it isn't as easy as a they make it seem in Madden:
