The idea is you'd be busting your block at how dumb it is when you were expecting something completely different.
But if you want to bust your nut instead who am I to stop you?

Actually, that's probably a good sign that you can notice positive traits.

Ateman has been above Washington on my board since October. The combine numbers are noticeable for both players but Ateman's numbers align more with his style of play than Washington's do and it raises questions for how each will transfer to the next level.

Since the cards just snipped me...

Bears Loss is the Giants gain:

    New York Giants Select
    OT, Alex Cappa, Humboldt State

I really liked Mayock’s take on him. “Does nothing but throw guys out of the gym.”

Div II mind you...but I thought he had some good looking feet too.

Also, it is a new regime, but you really think Giants take the character risk that is Harrison??

  8. Torgo M.V.P. Manager Falcons

Thanks to that groundbreaking trade, the Falcons filled two practice squad spots with one draft pick!

That means my other 7th round pick (244 overall) is available for trade. Anyone have an assistant coach who can help WRs with catching drills that they'd want to trade for a 7th round pick?

Ha I actually really like Cappa. I saw his tape before Mayock starting drooling over it and he just has the type of mentality I want in a lineman. When you see a small school guy like him you want to see him dominate in a sometimes humiliating fashion and he certainly gave you that... But he also uses his hands and feet well and had a pretty ok week at the Senior Bowl when he was playing against NFL prospects for the first time.

Honestly I don't know anything about him as a character risk... Did Tim save me from myself right there?

All kinds of question marks and red flags.

I drafted a potential keg of napalm to play in the desert sun.

Cappa hasn't really been challenged but he has all the tools you want in a player. His arms are a little short but he has good hands and hip flexibility and that makes up for it some. Also when I watch him play I feel like he is the kind of guy who will respond to a challenge by trying to throw that guy out of the gym as well... I see him as a LG early who may yet develop into a tackle.

He did, yes. Been to six different schools. Serious red flags

I am not going to lie -- I may write a guy off if I hear something but I am not a huge in season follower of college football. I know a bunch of Clemson alum so I watch a game with them every so often but for the most part I don't watch much of these guys until after the season is over. Most of what I know comes from me watching tape on them and if something comes up on google when I am looking for tape I will check it out. But frankly this isn't a guy I hear many people talking about at all...

I am having a Clerks moment right now. 6! Try not to get kicked out of school on the way to the parking lot...

Well I will catch up on some serious scouting tomorrow. Supposed to have the day off work (fingers crossed). And neither the Colts or Boys are scheduled to pick tomorrow. So I’ll be grinding some tape :PC:

I don’t watch many college games during the season either. But I always record and watch the combine, simply for the quick overview I get of 200 players from Mayock, and a bit of a personal appraisal of the athleticism of certain guys.

LoL. I thought it was “try not to blow anybody on your way to the car!”

I didn't have him listed until after the collegiate season had ended. Didn't even know the kid existed until there were some discussions about him getting an invite to the Senior bowl. His background is so checkered from bouncing around and having issues that he slipped through the cracks for most evaluators.

When people suggest that he could be one of the best linemen in this draft class they're not overstating it. His game is his athleticism and if he can keep on quality weight that sees him at or over 295 there are no questions regarding his physical skill set.

High risk/reward in the bottom of the 4th for a team that could use some talent on the line.

Yeah that is not the kind of guy Gettleman (or I) am looking to bring in right now. The Giants locker room is a mess. Hell they just signed Stewart to a contract basically to be a good locker room influence... A 1.5 million dollar nanny...
