Where Do We Go From Here?

Can't wait to see how you will spin Joe Thomas being a Brown because of Sashi Brown. The only fucking connection between Sashi and Joe is Sashi didn't trade him for draft picks.

I believe Joe Thomas retirement was a main reason for the signing of Darren Fells, he will be used to help that line protect Tyrod Taylor and open running lanes for the RBs.

  3. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

See, that's the difference between you and me. You will settle for a lessor option.

Subtract Joe's 2018 salary from Solder's. Now what's the cost?

  4. I do not think Zietler or Bitonio are top guards unless that top list includes 10-12 range

  5. So when Fells is in teams can expect the run?

  6. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

LOL, there are 64 starting guards in the NFL, so if they both fall in the 10-12 range, F*** yes, I consider that some of the top guards. Are you even serious right now?

I'm not settling for a lessor option, I would rather spend the money on players of a higher value than Solder...they don't have to be LT.

There are LOTS of teams that win playoff games in the NFL without Joe Thomas playing for them. It's about maximizing your money and putting the best TEAM on the field, not the best available LT, paying him the top contract ever for a LT, by about $2M or a 13% increase in value over the next closest contract...who was given to a top 5 player at his position BTW.

Do we know where Solder falls on the list of offensive tackles? That would be the starting point...I would be surprised if he is top 15, I'm thinking closer to 20...

How would you feel if they could use Joe's money to go out and sign Tyrann Mathieu? HE would make more of an impact I think overall on the roster...Although I don't think they go after him because of Randall, which I think is a mistake

No he is also an effective pass blocker... He will be used on the line, like a FB is used in the back field on pass protection.

  8. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

They don't have to spend "Joe's money" to sign Mathieu! They could have signed BOTH Solder and Mathieu without even touching Joe's money. But you want to move Coleman or Bitonio to left tackle?

  9. So he's an H back

  10. LG or RG

  11. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

How in the hell is the difference between Joe's $13M and Nate's $14.5M overpaying? That's the going rate for a starting LT today !

You mean to tell me that you wouldn't eat $1.5M in salary cap for a veteran LT that brings a winning culture to Cleveland?

  12. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

That's their original position. Coleman was drafted as a LT...Joe Thomas was there and Coleman needed development...he has gotten development. Hubbard is a RT, signed to be a RT. It's natural to expect a player to move back to his natural position.

    Both

  14. So u think Bitonio is a top 10 LG?

According to NFL Network's Mike Silver, free agent Terrelle Pryor is drawing interest from the Browns, Rams and 49ers.

Pryor flopped in Washington but could benefit from a change of scenery. He topped 1,000 yards with the Browns in 2016 but would be hard-pressed for targets playing behind Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon. The Rams need a pass-catcher to replace Sammy Watkins while the Niners are looking to add weapons around Jimmy Garoppolo. The former quarterback turns 28 in June.

Browns signed CB T.J. Carrie, formerly of the Raiders, to a four-year, $31 million contract.

The deal comes with $10 million in guaranteed money. Carrie played well over his 1,023 snaps last year, earning PFF's No. 23 coverage grade out of 120 qualifiers at cornerback. The Browns have made their secondary a priority this offseason, trading for Damarious Randall while adding Terrance Mitchell and Carrie in free agency. The Broncos were also in on the 27-year-old before he signed with Cleveland.

Hubbard can play LT. He has great feet. He can also play RT, RG, LG and C. Kid is a swiss army knife.

Joe = $13M, he was the 2nd rated OT last year prior to injury
NAte = $15.5M, he was the 23rd rated OT last year

Not "starter" going rate, TOP at his position going rate. The Giants over paid, simple..
