Vikings get their man ! The hell with Nick Foles, Minnesota gets Cousins. Congrats Vikings Nation and Will !

 

The Vikings are going to sign Cousins for 3 years 86 million all guaranteed. This is not a good thing. Now all QBs will want guaranteed contracts.

The Eagles have created $7.5M in cap space by restructuring the contract of offensive tackle Lane Johnson, a league source tells ESPN's Field Yates. Johnson's new cap number for 2018 is $4.98M, down from $12.48M, as his base salary was reduced from $10.25M to $790,000, with a signing bonus of $4,192,206, per Yates. Johnson still collects the same amount of money, and the Eagles take a big step towards being cap compliant before the start of the league year Wednesday.

--How the hell does he collect the same amount of money ? his base salary is $9 mil from where it was before. His salary with the cap is $7 mil off from where it was before? I get the signing bonus, but it doesn't add up. I don't care as it's not my money and helps the Eagles out a lot, but I don't get how he's paid the same with this restructuring. And good for Lane Johnson willing to restructure here to help the team out with cap space issues.

 

Bills bringing back Kyle Williams

That Cordy Glenn pickup is pretty significant for Cincinnati. The way the contract is structured allows them to essentially work on 3 consecutive 1year deals at reasonable numbers.

If Cousens is indeed a Viking that has to mean the Jets are going QB at 6. Ideally they take a safety because fuck the Jets. 2 rookie QBs in the AFCE looks probable

 

Jets could go get Bradford or Bridgewater as a bridge QB and draft their QB of the future. Same holds true for the Bills. It’s entirely possible to have 2 rookies starting, which all but assures the Patriots get to the playoffs again. Not that they needed any help...

If true than the Vikings did not keep any of the 3 QBs after going to the NFCCG. Interesting, especially since the Cousins deal isn’t official yet, unless I missed that update. Likely just a formality at this point, still thought they’d bring Bridgewater back to be the #2.

And the money they're getting is obscene! Guys like Bradshaw, Marino and Montana gotta be sick. Not to mention Baugh, Graham and Tittle gotta be rolling over in their grave or urn!

 

wow. so Arizona doesn't get Cousins and gives $20 mil to injured Bradford ? Wow. Bradford is laughing all the way to the bank on that one. I feel bad for Larry Fitzgerald. He goes from Carson Palmer throwing him passes to Sam Bradford. Ouch.

Report: Teddy Bridgewater close to Jets deal

With the quarterback dominoes falling quickly, the Jets can’t afford to be left out.

And they may have found their Plan B.

According to Bryant McFadden of CBSSports.com, the Jets are nearing a deal with Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

With guys flying off the shelves, it might be the best business the Jets can do, though it won’t take them out of the running for a rookie quarterback. The Jets pick sixth overall.

Bridgewater showed promise before a traumatic knee injury cost him more than a year. He was healthy enough to be active last year, but the Vikings were hesitant to go away from hot-hand Case Keenum. (PFT)
