G.M.O. - 2018 NFL Draft

I think the need at WR for the Packers is getting downplayed a little. Ridley can be an instant impact set of hands his rookie year in 3 wide sets and I believe he has the necessary traits to become a primary option in the future.

Agreed. I have him as my WR1 in the position rankings I'm working on. Mostly due to how ready he is right away. I think there are guys with better upside, but I think he is the safest bet to be at least above average.

Welp, since he has been ranked as the top tackle in the draft, and the second best o-lineman, I wasn't taking my chances.

I still think he can be a good NFL player. His size and tape haven't just gone away, it's just that his combine scares me about his athleticism and work ethic.

I think if Barkley is there at #2 Gettleman takes him. The Giants are fawning over the kid. There is footage of a Giants scout on the field watching Barkley run the 40 and his face is glowing. He immediately talks to Barkley afterwards. I would have to consider him if he were on the board. The Giants seem to really believe Eli can play out the rest of his contract and that Webb can develop if you give him time. A guy like Barkley makes both of those things easier and Shurmer wants a RB with hands. Barkley becomes more than just a RB in his offense he becomes another high octane weapon to go with OBJ and Engram. Mismatch nightmares for days.

I had other options but I am interested in the pro-days

Matthew I know it doesn't matter much but we don't like name dropping too early since we know some people can get antsy and dictate moves around the talk and then other get angry even if they just perceive that is happening.

Yeah I had him earmarked at 34 as a kid you take a chance on there. But at #2 overall I just can't. People keep saying "but he didn't have talent around him" as if that somehow makes a difference when he can't get the ball within 10 yards of his target or when he looks like he is trying to throw the ball through his WR's chest and push it out the other side... Darnold didn't have much talent either, Rosen didn't have much talent either and Jackson didn't exactly have much talent around him. All three of those guys managed to have better accuracy and better tape.

Okay I don't have a worthwhile deal. I will pick in 5 minutes.

His combine confirms what I see on tape though. A massive human being who thinks being massive is all he needs to succeed. I wouldn't take a flyer on that kid until day 3 after that combine performance -- maybe not at all.

**Edit** To be very clear this is my own amateur take and not a shot at the guy who selected him... No insult intended and he is well regarded on draft boards.

I think I'll call the cops in TD's hometown and have them do a wellness check. He's normally chomping at the bit to pick.

lol. Maybe I'm mellowing in my old age? Well no offers have come in, and I have a player (steal) in mind, so I'll be picking soon most likely....It's rare to see 5 QB's off the board already, especially in these mock exercises. So it's forced a couple players down the board that I never dreamed would be available at #18...Just checking on a couple things...

It's a much safer pick now that Jeff Triplette has announced his retirement.

Do you know who is being promoted from within that crew?
