  2. Landry traded to Cleveland for a 4th and a 7th....

Not that I would've wanted Pace to get into a bidding war, but that's damn reasonable for a player that has done what he has done to start his career.

Wow congrats flyer! I would've thought you'd be done with all that by now you glutton for punishment! : ))))

Yeah and don't forget the old trick of adding a nip to the bedtime milk bottle. Gets them to sleep faster and for longer, dual-win!

Man, there have been a HELL of a lot of trades this year. Its good, but there have been some questionable deals done.

My fav so far is the Peckers trading for Shizer, haaaaahahahaha! I take it the new GM there doesn't bother himself with things like film study. Shizer was HORRIBLE last year.

I hope Tennenbum buys Dorsey a good bottle of Scotch for this, cos the Browns just got the Dolphins off the hook big time. The Phins had got themselves into a horrible spot with their handling of Landry, they were screwed CAP-wise.

A price tag this low tells you they had virtually zero trade interest from teams, which was a major miscalculation on their part. If the Dolphins had just washed their hands of Landry and let him walk they prob would've got a 3rd round compensatory pick. Really no worse than a 4th & 7th, but with WAY less stress.

A price tag like that its tempting to say the Bears should've been in on this too. But 1- A second team being involved surely would've driven the price tag up so you're no longer getting such a good deal. 2- More importantly, its takes a team with plenty of draft capitol to make this move and that isn't the Bears. They need every pick they've got.

I would also question how much genuine interest there was from Pace. I still think Albert Wilson will be Pace's move to address slot WR, we'll see.

Yeah, Green Bay's new GM has evidently decided to corner the market on bad quarterbacks. They already have a quarterback who cant throw to his own team in Hundley. Glennon needs a home too, so stay tuned. Dont understand the move for the roster, but I think the Packers came out on top. Randall didn't fit with them, and they moved up in the 4th and 5th rounds. Cleveland really didn't think Kizer was part of the future. That was fast.

But this remains annoying to me when it comes to our Wisconsin rivals: it beyond baffles me how overrated the Packers' scouting department is. Take an all-time great quarterback off the field and that's an atrocious team.

    Pretty much this ^

I am glad the Bears stayed out of the trade a pick to overpay a WR when there will be better ones on the open market. I can’t fault the Dolphins for how they played it. Yes there was risk a deal wouldn’t get done but they were able to secure a 4th and seventh round pick in this draft as opposed to maybe getting a little higher comp pick in next years draft. I will be interested in seeing how high of a 4th round pick it is.

I’ve been arguing this with Packer fans and Bear fans for years, and it drives me NUTS when I hear “professional” analysts blow about how well the Packers draft. Their rationale being that the Packers never get into the FA bidding wars and have low player turnover.

Huh??? They don’t try to acquire big name FA’s because they don’t have to, because they have the best QB in the league.

Simple question, if their players are so great, and they draft so well, name the last highly sought after Peckers FA to get a big contract...

    Yeah. Thought so.

I would not mind Allen Robinson at all, actually. He instantly becomes stud A #1 receiver and he’d be on a two year deal.

They gave giraffe neck like $80 billion last year, so fuck... why not try him?

We don’t have much else in the hopper do we?

  14. I'd hate overpaying for a 1 year wonder. Everyone seemed to be hating on Landry a bit, but he has a track record of consistency that Robinson lacks. Sure, if they can get Robinson for 5-6 a year, but I can see them already throwing 12-15 a year at him and then cutting him in 2 years

Landry is a slot, thats the thing. By far the bigger problem for the Bears is finding a WR to play the outside. Thats where Robinson comes in. Normally i would be swerving a WR coming off a major injury who's gonna get top5-10 money, but what choice do the Bears have? There's a dire need, few genuine options on the market and no one worthy of the #8 pick. And they have the money.

You reap what you sow, Pace ripped up the WR position and here we are. If having done that, and then dropping multiple picks to trade up for Trubisky, and then DOESN"T commit to getting him some legit help at WR..... well then Pace is even dumber than i thought. And that would take some doing.

Also, CB looks good this FA, the Bears could come away looking very solid at the position IF Pace plays it right. Keeping Fuller and landing another one of the top CB's would be awesome. I just don't expect to see it.

We need Allen Robinson & Trumaine Johnson/Malcom Butler. Watch Pace sign Donte Moncreif & Patrick Robinson/DRC.

I see Bears' GM's are still there own worst enemy. Plenty of holes on this team without creating more, yet, that is what they consistently do. Please tell me the days of playing guys out of position are over, at least!

Hey where the hell is @Mongo_76 and why isn't he in here sharing his thoughts on FA?

And i think its getting worse too. Bears GM's used to get fired for this kinda crap. Now they get extensions.

Dunno, he's fallen off the planet. He frequents CCS as well for some ungodly reason. I try to avoid the place cos i come away a little bit dumber every time, anyone else seen mongo over there?
