Truthfully, I do not follow the Pens that closely, so I could be wrong. There is a somewhat funky smell coming from that organization to this casual observer. They happen to have two NHL stars on their roster and that typically sets a team up as a contender for about a decade. But, it takes a lot more than two players to win the Cup and in the cap era the roster needs to be carefully structured. It leaves me wondering: - Does the FO realize that for hockey purposes, Pittsburgh is a major market? They do not seem to act that way. - Why was it so hard for them to hire a GM and coach? It matters what you do after you are hired much more than what is on your resume, but these hires make it seem like good hockey people did not want the positions. - Is the turnover on the roster designed to make them a SC contender this year? There's a lot of activity by necessity due to the number of contracts that were up, and some players had the upper hand in terms of where they'd play next season. Still, the new roster appears a bit slap-dash, and I believe the team has taken a step back. - Does this team lack balls, or does it just seem that way? Some players simply step up when the games matter more; that does not appear to be the case for anyone on the Pens. I am not trying to be a pri^k about them, because as a Sabres' fan I am subject to abuse from anyone who wishes to chime in on them. I am really wondering what's going on with the Pens as it appears as though that could be instructive as Buffalo rebuilds.
really good resource for roster breakdown including the type of acquisition and the apprenticeship team of each player. all the teams are available, this should be a good thing for future discussions of GMs and their individual methods. http://www.rosterresource.com/nhl-boston-bruins/
I already have no hair with Rutherford and Johnson. I won't have to pull any out when the regular season starts.......So I'm ahead of the game.......
The Lowe, Mactavish, and Howson trinity did it again: http://www.tsn.ca/tkachev-s-entry-level-contract-with-oilers-ruled-ineligible-by-nhl-1.95875 More proof that they do not read the CBA. How the does a front office fuck that up? I heart Edmonton.
that is amazballs. how do the Oilers not know such a simple rule? more like how do the Oilers continually not know the rules?
Something about Alberta. Even after they have Fletcher (CGY) fucking up QOs to O'Reilly, they hire a guy that actually got busted cheating on the CBA and costing his franchise. EDM has had a real tough time with things that have lots of words in them.
Daaaaaayyyyyuuuuummmmmm! 2014? ^^^ Caps extend MacLellan. Terms have not been disclosed. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-multi-year-extension/?utm_term=.d1af0d2bf7c2
I briefly looked for this thread when Ron Francis got the boot upstairs. Thanks for finding it Frank.
Found it on page 8 or 9. I was thinking that bob created a thread on GMs. That's his move without a doubt. Just kept digging. GOLD!
Since there isn't a thread for contracts, I'll just put this here. Worst contract for each NHL team. https://thehockeywriters.com/worst-nhl-contracts-2018/
