I'm happy now because we now know for certain that Dorsey isn't just blowing smoke. He wants to win and change the doom & gloom culture right now... When you can exchange one of the worst draft decisions ever, for a CB the calibur of D. Randall, what more needs to be said...Not to mention adding Jarvis Landry to the mix. I just hope Landry embraces the Browns...If he does, our offense could really make a big jump.
I agree with TD. The Bills showed a maddening proclivity for showing Tyrol that he wasn't wanted. I like the trade for the Bills for the simple fact that #65 is a heluva lot better than the nothing Bills fans expected he'd net. (I also have gained confidence in the FO and think they have a plan to get a QB.) Hopefully the Browns show him the love he deserves. Best of luck, Tyrod, and thanks.
Good luck back to the Bills! We were just talkin a few days ago about that classic 1989 (season) when the Browns and Bills hooked up in a memorable divisional playoff game at old Cleveland Stadium......My guy Clay Mathews sealed it at the end, but only after a very lucky (for us) drop by Ronnie Harmon. Great memory. What could be better than seeing this trade work out for both franchises?
Sometimes you have to like a message, even though you hate what it says. The "bickering Bills" cleaned up their act quickly and gave us some nice memories. I'll also remind Cleveland fans that only a few years earlier Buffalo was considered a laughing stock. Things can turn quickly - as long as the right decision makers are in place. It would be nice if Buffalo & Cleveland could celebrate the 40 year anniversary with another epic playoff tilt.
I'm a Bills fan, so I'm not going to disparage my team. But, this roster of talent looks pedestrian compared to what the Browns may have this year. ... Now, if Cleveland gets that RB from Penn State ...
I have nothing against Deshone Kizer. He really is a fine young person...I just don't think he "gets" football. Good luck to the Packers, but I'm not worried or holding my breath on this one...Getting ANYTHING out of Kizer is a plus...but a player like Randall?
Benjamin is a freak...just needs to be motivated at times...he can't be covered when he is ready to play....we all know bout McCoy and I just included O Leary cause of FSU connection...he's a decent TE
^^^^This I'm ecstatic with the moves made today. I was always for developing Kizer, but that may have never paid off. We get a starting caliber CB to replace his roster spot?? Sign me up!! Tyrod Taylor is an upgrade to anything the Browns have had on the roster in years. I'm not convinced he is a Super Bowl caliber QB, but I think he can help the Browns get to the playoffs in 2019. THEN Mayfield take them even further in 2020. I'm just over the moon about getting Landry. It's not about getting a receiver that will get you 150 yards per game...that's what Gordon is for. We do need another one to groom because you never know how long Gordon will be available...but Landry will get you first downs! Move those chains baby. He's the type of receiver that moves the time of possession into the Browns favor by extending drives. Hell, I'm already excited for the season and free agency hasn't even begun yet. Although Landry and Randall will eat up some of that cap space right away...and Taylor takes up a small chunk also.. they've gotten off to a strong start and haven't really given up much other than money and a couple mid round draft picks. Hip hip hooray for John Dorsey!!!!
The fog has lifted. There's life in Cleveland, and it's wearing Brown and Orange again. Dorsey is a Playa. IMO Taylor was our best fit. Hell, Cleveland may be nervana after the treatment he got in Buffalo. The guy can play, not a top 10 QB but a solid and experienced, competent QB, at worst, and maybe more. He'll have some above average recievers, and if the draft goes the way I think they are setting it up, a very good RB too. Landry makes us immediately better, and by far than last year. If Gordon can stay straight, we will be a tough matchup for any D. Joe come back to us, big guy. Please! And a top level CB. Dorsey is making fans get excited about their 0 and 16 team. Playoffs anyone? Pardon my enthusiasm, it's been a long dark couple decades. Tyrod lets me feel confident that we won't go 0 and 4. This ship is setting it's riggings for a voyage that won't lack for able bodied deck hands, now if the captain can navigate we're on our way. I'll admit that part still worries me, but not so much anymore. Dorsey is in charge, and it appears that he's not up for appeasing the HC, but maybe is up for a little "show me". He's doing his job. The obvious move is to get Barkley for the dogpound, thereby making whoever you put under center a better QB. Unless they have that "one guy" who they absolutely love at QB in the draft, they will still get one of the top 3 at worst, and if today was any indication we may yet get both, with some more aggressive action to move up and be sure you get your QB too. A great day to be a Browns fan.
Taylor trade. I’ve wanted him for a couple of years. Is he going to win us the super bowl? Nope, but he’ll not embarrass us while we find the guy who can. This scares me that we’re going to draft that guy from USC that no one will remember in 4 years. He’s a turnover machine, so maybe Dorsey thinks Taylor can teach him how to take care of the call. Landry trade blows me away. I would have never guessed we’d get him that cheap. Hopefully he stays. I’m mildly suspicious of the Randall trade. Cap move by the Packers?
It's possible. They moved a guy with one year left on his rookie deal and a decision whether to exercise his 5th year option, to a guy with 3 years left on his rookie deal. They had a good look at former UCLA QB and Rodgers backup, Brett Hundley and apparently didn't like what they saw. He is also on his last year of his rookie deal...I believe he went 3-6 as a starter..now Kizer was 0-15, but with a different cast than the one the Packers have been using WINNING games with Rodgers. We still need Tyrod's backup...don't rule out an early QB in the draft!
No question about it. We are still taking a QB early in round 1...Taylor is a capable NFL QB that won't single handedly destroy all chances of winning. He's generally mistake free, if not a little too conservative. He's an ideal bridge QB to rely on until the young prospect is ready to play. He also happens to be about the same height as Baker Mayfield. Is it a coincidence that we brought in a 6' tall veteran QB that has won in this league? idk...
