I've never been so unprepared for a L4SN draft. I have a lot of work to do.

Lucky you. Originally we wanted to start right after the combine but pushed it back 1 week.

Just think, if you would have tagged Bell, you wouldn't be able to afford draft picks and wouldn't have to worry about the draft.:p

I rarely criticize the Steelers front office but I think they have this wrong. They've let great players walk before. Not sure why they are so hell bent on keeping this one. They won Super Bowls with Willie Parker.

Especially since the team with the leading RB hasn't won the Super bowl since the 90's. Brown looks unselfish for restructuring and gets more Gaurenteed money, sure to piss Bell off more. Part of me wonders how much of this is driven by Ben saying he wants Bell. He already ran Haley out of town and hand picked his QB coach as coordinator.

Draft board is set, major free agency is complete, I'm not trading #1 overall, send me offers for #4, but most likely staying there as well.

HEADS UP...as soon as Tim sets the stage in the draft thread tomorrow morning, the Browns will be making the #1 overall selection. Giants will be able to follow at that time. We are getting started early, but anyone that needs the weekend off, well, you will just politely hold us up, lol. No, seriously though. Draft doesn't start till Monday morning officially...But I WILL be making the #1 overall pick tomorrow morning for all that want to jump on here early.

Once he makes that pick I am on the clock so if you want to come up to #2 send those offers in =) If I get an offer I can't refuse I definitely won't wait until Monday to take it! And if I don't well I may just make a pick early as well.

I'm in the same category as Beach. I think this is the least prepared I have ever been heading into mock drafts.

On the plus side, I have already filled my roster via free agency, so I can trade the #26 or just look at the best players available rather than having to research specific positions.

As a Browns fan, I've been preparing for this draft since November, so I'm as ready as I've ever been as far as researching and studying the talent...As GM of the Chargers, I I'm with Torgo. I've addressed the areas on this roster that I wanted to, and now I can focus on taking the best player available in the draft. Improving overall talent and depth without necessarily feeling like I have to hit a certain position...That's kinda where I'm at.

Not looking to move, but always willing to listen...

It's a cool feature of a mock offseason as opposed to a mock draft. It changes your draft needs considerably.

As of right now, DT is the real team's top need and will likely be addressed via the draft. But I don't HAVE to draft an instant starter to replace Dontari Poe, as I already signed Haloti Ngata and Brandon Mebane and Phil Taylor (if he can make it to Flowery Branch without tearing a hamstring) and prospect Sealver Siliga for the DT group. Some of the free agents I signed won't even make the final 53-man roster.

Okay so I had to fully restructure Jimmy Smith to add Andy Levitre but it's money he's owed anyways and he has such a huge cap hit next year on the last year of the current contract that he was sticking around no matter what anyways so it isn't a big risk at all. It's the only restructure I'm making as I don't want to keep this team in cap hell. Smith will now be on the books for just over $20 next year now lol. But that's fine.

Just to clarify, the email we recieved made it seem like your clock doesn't start until the pre-determined time, no matter how quickly the teams before you make their picks. This is so that everyone's pick happens at a predictable time. Or am I mistaken?

Last year what happened was people could get ahead of schedule just fine -- but no one had to make a pick before they were officially on the clock. I can hold the selection until 9:00 am on Monday or I can go now. Then RT can hold it until 9:30 am on Monday or pick before then. Sometimes it moved pretty quickly but no one will "miss" their selection until the official time has passed.

You don't have to pick until just before the next team is officially on the clock. We can get way ahead of schedule if everyone is active so we only went a few rounds deep with the schedule in case we need to set the new times for much earlier. Everyone knows they have to check.

I sure hope Levitre is worth it. You do play a zone blocking scheme, right?

  16. LAOJoe Assistant Coach Manager Patreon Silver Maple Leafs Eagles

Yes. Only restructuring $4M all offseason and to a guy that only has 1 year left on the current deal is a big win IMO. I stayed relatively disciplined. I wasn't going to pay a dime more for Levitre either.

  17. Torgo M.V.P. Manager Falcons

Yep, as long as you play zone, you did well in landing Levitre.

I think I stayed pretty disciplined too. I did restructure - $17M worth - but I have been careful to avoid using it. No harm done as long as I keep it available to roll over.

Releasing Levitre freed up $7M. With that, even after signing Ngata and a boatload of rejects, I still have about $21M cap remaining.

Some of the rejects were even "free" in cap terms. For example, prospect Spencer Pulley ($630k) is tied with other $630k players for the 51st highest base salary. Signing him made no difference at all in the Top 51 cap calcs, and he might make the roster as the #2 center.

Why the hell would the Packers trade for Kizer? Lol
