I never said anything you posted was unreasonable. I'm just saying if he didn't want to wait he probably decided to go with his initial feeling and take his guy.

It definitely is a bit frustrating. But then again we did have a while to get the gears in motion for earlier picks.

While I understand your stance, if Xinik was truly interested in making that deal happen he had every opportunity to work it out with you.

The impression that I have is that an offer was made, considered, and ultimately the pick was put in.

    @munoz1987

I'm waiting for you to confirm a trade.

Xinik can speak for himself when he posts here. But knowing that he actually had the power to make his pick at any moment would have altered how quickly I responded to his proposal. I've had next Monday marked in my calender for quite a while. Never in my wildest imagination did I expect draft picks to occur today. It was not communicated in any way that people would be able to make permanent draft pick decisions at any moment before 8am next Monday.

This part is solely my fault, and for that I apologize.

    Sorry Soffacet. Tough lesson.
We’re a bunch of draft junkies that are most often ahead of schedule.

I like that pick Soffacet. Personally, he’s my top rated QB.
It’s very close with Rosen. Rosen is more polished.
But you watch Darnold’s 2016 Washington game and you can see literally everything you want to see from a franchise QB. It’s really more of a hunch I have, but Darnold is my guy this year. It would really help if he lands with a top QB coach in the pros. Get his ball security tightened up

  12. The New York Jets are open to offers for the 6th pick.

It's late in the UK and I need to do some more research so I won't be making the pick until tomorrow at the earliest.

I would really like Sam Darnold to succeed, USC thing (cuz they never pan out). Unfortunately, he has a few quirks in his drop and doesn't progress through his reads well. His iii's need teaching. Solid arm.

Hey Sof honestly you are right. I had announced on the draft board earlier I intended to either move or make the pick before I left work today and no one seemed particularly interested in a trade up. Once the first pick was made I figured I would explore some options but Rosen was always plan A. I have my QB’s ranked a bit differently then I assumed most guys would and though there was an outside chance my QB2 would be available at 21. But Rosen is and was my QB1 and was for me the most likely scenario from the start. You seemed like warm about the deal at best so I moved on and just pulled the trigger on my guy.

Actually I posted the night before that I would be making the #1 pick the next morning. I know that is a short amount of time considering the Monday timeline to start, but I wasn't trading that #1 overall, so I didn't see any reason to not give the Giants time to do whatever he wanted with #2.

I don't think I've ever been in one of these where we didn't start early...I think 3 days early is a new record, but some guys like to be around on weekends, others don't, this gives everyone a chance to ease into Monday.

This ^^^^ plus when Sofficit asked Xinik in the discussion thread yesterday at 3:02pm about picking early Xinik responded two minutes later with...

Xinik 3:04pm: Last year what happened was people could get ahead of schedule just fine -- but no one had to make a pick before they were officially on the clock. I can hold the selection until 9:00 am on Monday or I can go now. Then RT can hold it until 9:30 am on Monday or pick before then. Sometimes it moved pretty quickly but no one will "miss" their selection until the official time has passed.

I don't understand the gripe at all. A mod announced he would pick early, announced the next guy could pick early and then made the 1st pick of the draft at 6:00am yesterday. And then Xinik answered a direct question to the griper and said he may pick right away.
