Ya well this is coming from the guy who keeps saying sign Cousins and still draft a QB either 1 or 4....that's as pointless as a draft pick as they come
And I asked you to link it, but you couldn't. Which is why your comment has to be taken with a grain of salt.
If all of these guys were harping on Mayfield's footwork it would have been posted all over Twitter. You either have to link it or I'm just going to assume you posted it to stir the pot.
That's straight bullshit..lol! You can continue your crusade against Mayfield, but don't just say stuff that isn't true...
If you're going to quote me, at least put in the effort to quote me correctly. I have said, "Sign a veteran and draft a QB at 1 or 4." Cousins came into play as objectionable because he would (supposedly) demand too much money that would, in effect, mandate he's the starter - long term. I countered that argument by saying, "then front load his contract to get him his big money in the 1st year or two."
So you still want the #1 or #4 draft pick sitting for at least 2 yrs...then you won't even know if he's the guy in yr 3...just seems like a waste IMO
I didn't say they were talking bout his footwork...they were saying he did some good things and ok things...nothing great....more or less they weren't blown away or overly impressed
I just said, Buck and Lance both commented on how quickly he was dropping and setting up after it was brought up by the lead host. You can also go on Twitter and see the comments by a lot of people talking about the same thing.
Which is exactly what I was talking about in my first post - "I thought Mayfield did exactly what was expected of him, so if you had a certain opinion of him going in it was probably the same coming out" But you disagreed and said - "Well a lot of analysts disagree" Everything since then has been a twist away from that comment.
Reading comprehension, Stopper . . . reading comprehension. You ought to try it sometime. I said, "PAY HIM HIS BIG MONEY FOR TWO YEARS !!!" You can do that and still play the new guy enough to develop him and see what you have.
I have said this before but front-loading contracts does nothing for a team with a ton of cap space since it's all rollover cap anyways. Actually you'll just have Cousins bitching for an extension early for new money since his money coming in later will be below average.
So throwing the long ball and the WR almost stopping was expected? Throwing behind a few WRs was expected?
@Tim...You won't win. Right,Wrong or indifferent, the stopper beat will just keep going....Mindless as it is.
I'm assuming he didn't understand the premise of my original post, but I'm willing to play this out just to see what his actual point was and if it was based on anything real.
