Why would your body tell you that? Why do you think my body is telling me that? This is so bizarre LOL

I work out (I teach a very challenging yoga/tai chi class) between 2-4 hours everyday except on Fridays and I love how I feel. Well, except for the last night because I was too tired to teach. Hitting the wall means you just can't take another step, your body says that's enough :) That's how I felt last night but today I feel great again :)

Hitting the wall is when your body tells you you're getting to old.

Actually that's completely inaccurate . Hitting the wall happens to people of all ages. It happens when you overextend yourself physically. Runners for instance hit the wall all the time when they try to improve their times Etc...

I never hit a wall until I was in my 50's. And I got some serious exercise when I was young . Before my Achilles last stand.

You may have done some crazy shit but that just means you could have gone even crazier if you wanted. Then again hitting said wall is usually a bit too far, you ideally wanna stop just before you think you are hitting it.

Okay I see where you're coming from now gidion. I don't think it's only age-related though. My brother played varsity rugby and he was an ultra racer and I know that he experienced the wall a few times in his life. He never saw his 50's.

So does anyone use a foam roller for stretching out your muscles after or before a workout?

I have a really nice set of these which are made out of cedar. My neighbour Aaron Downey gave them to after I taught yoga at his studio once. Aaron won the Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings a few years ago. I've never been able to use the ones that he gave me comfortably because they are so hard and I have too much Myofascial pain. What are the key areas of the body to roll out? I did some yesterday and I almost passed out from the pain.

Just started taking a Flexibility class a month or so ago that incorporates a foam roller. Every Tuesday night - working late tonight,so it's the first one I'll miss. :(

Sports Cardio is the class before; Core is the class after.

    That's super interesting Axe!

Anyone who does any kind of fitness regime needs a class like that or they need to learn how to stretch correctly at home. How do you feel since you started the class Axe? All 3 of those classes sound really cool especially the Sports Cardio.

I started taking supplements (protein powder, collagen, turmeric and curcinum, L-Glutamine and Vits C and D) a couple of weeks ago to help rebuild my muscles and to help reduce inflammation. Unfortunately for me, I think I've torn my ACL. I'm going to have to teach my classes from a standing point instead of on my mat. This really blows!

I've been feeling really good! I'm at an age (53) where each of those classes serves a great purpose. I also just took a deep water aerobics class last night.

My knees are close to shot from playing sports all these years - sucks, because it hinders doing squats, which is such a key strength exercise.

But your right wrist and forearm are HUGE, right!?

    The classes sound really interesting!

Speaking of knees, I pulled my MCL a few days ago which is a really huge drag since I teach between 2-4 hours of yoga everyday and right now I can't even lower myself to my mat. LOL Needless to say my clients aren't impressed with me :) I'm still teaching but I have to stay upright through most of the class which is very unusual for me, I normally do pose for pose with my clients.

There is an entire world of cool aerobic and healing classes out there, I wish I could go to more!

Company I work for sponsors a lot of in-house training classes and lunch 'n learn meetings/seminars. And there's always left-over food (usually either pizza or hoagies).
