Like I said his team wasnt very good to get him in position to play a top level type of team....so he is kinda incomplete in that regard
Like I said his team wasnt very good to get him in position to play a top level type of team....so he is kinda incomplete in that regard Btw, did you mean ever in college football or that yr?
They are comparing the types of QBs, they aren't saying Winston was a turnover machine. You only see what you want to unfortunately. As it pertains to the argument you are making at a certain point in time...but not overall. You're entire argument against Baker Mayfield is a single half of football vs. one of the best defenses in the country...You disregard every other half of football that he played throughout his career against similarly rated defenses and continually go back to what boils down to about 7 minutes of football over his career, of 4 years mind you..none of the other QBs have his resume, but you refuse to look at that.... THEN, you back a guy like Rosen who cowers to top defenses.... Then you state something like this:
Its not like I said Mayfield was terrible....Im not drafting him #1 overall is my point or even top 5
Yes that was the biggest half of football he has played in his life and failed...he had a 14 pt lead and scored a whopping 10 pts and 3 were pretty much given to him in OT
Your point is what is terrible...You won't draft him top 5....BUT, a lessor QB in Rosen, who happens to be taller, you will back as "your guy" and draft HIM early. I don't see an intelligent conversation/debate where any other QB in this draft can win out of Mayfield as the best QB in this class. I just cannot comprehend that. Stats, film, drive, story line, competition level, leadership qualities, Mayfield has every base covered. While there are others that may overtake him in a single category, there aren't any QBs that can overtake him in more than 2...and he is second or third at his lowest on every single topic covered, first on the majority of topics...No other QB can boast being in the top 5 of every topic. Other than the tired, he isn't "built" to be an NFL QB...which actually dwindles down to height and nothing else...There are really no other arguments that can be made against Mayfield being the best in this class.
What do you base the NFL draft on? Potential...Mayfield is maxed out while the other guys have plenty of room to grow
Here is the blinder test.... What other QB, and I'm talking the history of football, not just the other prospects in this draft class have not had a 3 series plod? Please show me THAT GUY and I will change my opinion once and for all and back THAT GUY. I will wait for your name and we can continue this conversation..if said name isn't dropped, I will take that as your agreement that your argument over his entire career being based on 3 drives is the most idiotic stance any one has ever taken in the history of chat rooms, going back to the days of AOL and dial up internet.
3 drives? Thats all he played...hell he had 2 drives from the opponents 25 yd line and didnt even get a 1st down...you have your guy which is fine but dont be disappointed when his name isnt selected for the Browns
LOL, well, to say any 23 year old is tapped out on potential is shortsided at best. BUT, putting that aside, his max out is so far ahead of the other candidates, you would have an extremely hard time justifying their "potential" for their growth, when none of them even grew year to year at the collegiate level. They regressed...Oh wait...except for Mayfield. Baker has never in his life had a season of regression...EVER...that's two years as varsity starter and 4 years of Division 1, power 5 conference collegiate football starter...NEVER regressed...EVER. Let that sink in.... But, please continue with your argument that he is maxed out on potential.
3 failed drives...The other drives, he moved the ball so I would ASSUME you would count that as a plus and not hold moving the ball and scoring against him...Wait, I am talking to you, so I am sure you will find a way to twist scoring as a bad thing for Baker Mayfield.
Oops, yep, there you go...scoring is a negative mark against Baker Mayfield...His points are given to him, while other QBs earn theirs...
OK we will find out soon enough where he goes...you like Mayfield and I prefer Darnold and Rosen....its ok
I know, but when pressed, your guy is Rosen...That is the one guy you would hang your reputation on...So, I guess we will all see a few years down the road...
I could care less where he goes, it's what he/they do that will win the debate. I'm still willing to say that the Bears will WISH they had drafted Deshaun Watson instead of Trubisky 5 years down the road...Hell, they'll probably settle for Pat Mahomes as well as far as that goes. There's no winning an argument based on where a guy is drafted. Poor choices abound in this world. What the players become is all that matters.
Irish beat me to it... What are you talking about stopper? Mayfield is a quarterback. A highly productive leader. What do you base the "tapped out potential" remark on? He's just gettin started my friend...
