Isnt that a lot for Nash? He's kinda been off, but the Rangers are in disarray.

I don't like the deal, it would've been good two years ago.

The Bruins unload Beleskey (really only half of Beleskey) and acquire Rick Nash for a playoff run.
Rangers get Spooner, a 1st, a 7th and Ryan Lindgren.

Spooner wouldve been a healthy scratch when Nash enters the lineup.
I like Lindgren's makeup, he's supposed to be the ultimate locker room guy. He wasnt one of the Bruins A list prospects though. Dont get me wrong letting the kid go will hurt but he's already behind McAvoy, Carlo, Zboril and Lauzon in terms of Dmen in his age bracket in this system.

This would have been a great deal for the Bruins if NYR ate all of Beleskey's money. Too rich I guess.

Interested to see Nash with Krejci, could be something nice there.

Nash is big and experienced... could be just what the doctor ordered for the war of attrition known as the playoffs.

Good luck, Matty... I hope it works out well for you and the Bruins.

It all depends on his foot speed, 28 pts in 60 games could be an indication of a player on the decline and they overpaid. He's only 33, it shouldn't be an issue, the b's better hope he gels and doesn't slow things down.

I’m a little worried about locker room chemistry but from all accounts Nash has become a good teammate and definitely a more rounded player. Not the kind of guy you follow in to battle but the Bs already have a few of those.
I think skinny is right though, hoping he doesn’t slow it down. The reason I think he’ll mesh with Krejci is that they’re both very deliberate with possession (i.e. sllllooooooow) and don’t often take advantage of turnovers in the DZ or NZ. What seems to work best with Krejci is a winger that can outman the opposition the way Horton used to. I think this is why Pastrnak and Krejci couldn’t gel, Pastrnak is quick strike where Krejci just isn’t.

We’ll see but I can’t hide from it, ive never been a Rickk Nash guy.

Me neither, to be honest. They must see something beneficial tho or they wouldn't have invested so much. I still don't know or understand why Nash's name being dropped in trade talks throughout the NHL ranks was a big deal to begin with.

I think the B's might see this giving them an edge in the playoffs. I just don't see how this makes them better vs the pens or tampa in a 7 rounder. A player like jvr would've set them up a lot better.

I think the belief is that he still has the capacity to snipe and when he’s going he’ll be tough to stop even in postseason play. He was a force when the Rags made their run a few years ago.

I wonder what Sweeney is thinking beyond this year with him. Essentially Nash is on a tryout for the whole league and that can work for Boston. Or he could be a total liability ala Jagr and be a waste of assets.

Leafs get Plekanec for 2nd rounder, rychel and rinat.

    Who’s Rinat?

22 year old marlie dman from russia. He was drafted 3rd round 2014.

    Rinat Valiev

This adds depth to the centre position, also a good pk guy and defensive zone starts. He's also a veteren with playoff experience, also frees up another contract. Maybe this sets up another move, also leafs get dman kyle baun, undrafted.

Middle of the road type prospect?
Rychal is essentially just that at this point. So when Matthews comes back where does Plek fit, 3rd line?

  19. skinny123 Guest

Not sure whats going on with jvr though, plek isn't a top 6 at this point, 3rd or 4th liner.

    Habs now have 4 ‘18, 2nd rounders.
