with this HS shooting people want gun control etc. I got into a discussion with a HS colleague of mine, who is a teacher and she defriended me afterwards. I wasn't even the one that started in on her.

my other friend, chimed in and his a Philly Cop. He said to have electric doors to buzz students in and out of schools with the proper ID so no one could let in a potential shooter.

the teacher said that's a fire hazard. Cop said in a case of fire all doors open. she said - still a fire hazard.

then guns came up. she said she doesn't want teachers to carry guns or anyone else in the school. she said she would NEVER shoot a armed shooter. really ? so if a shooter is there pointing a gun at you, you wouldn't shoot him? you say u care soooo much about your kids that you don't wanna defend them! she wants gun control. gun control is a small step to a giant problem.

she got all mad and bashed me and the cop for pushing guns on her and fellow teachers. so I said ok - what's your brilliant plan. you don't want guns. you don't want secured locked doors and personnel at each door etc. she got mad and banned me from the thread and defriended me. The Cop was the one who started in on her first with offering ideas and she offered zilch and he bashed her for it. I mentioned "oh btw this isn't Trump's fault" as Columbine and Sandy Hook happened under different Presidents. That was the last I heard from her.

oh she said - we have no money for pencils or textbooks but money for guns! fucking liberal.

whatever. you say you wanna protect your kids. they're not your kids, they're students but you don't wanna carry a gun or shoot anyone. well I got nothing for ya.

I asked my college roommate who is a Vice Principal in Texas and his school has 2 armed guards in the school AT ALL TIMES! I rest my case. Having legally gun carriers would've stopped a lot of these shootings bf they evolved into much worse.

 

WV school teachers walked out today on strike and on behalf of ALL WV State employees (police included) due to “pay cuts”. Technically a pay cut since their insurance is going up to double while only getting a meager pay increase in comparison. Some teachers will actually lose money on that deal, so in a way, it’s a pay cut. How in the fuck is a school system that can’t pay a living wage and without stripping their employees of their benefits gonna pony up for armed security and/or bullets. She has a point. A piss-poor state like WV can’t afford additional costs, especially in the state sector. Let’s get guns out of schools by putting more guns in the schools. What the actual fuck?

 

You would have to get armed security, because a teacher is a teacher, not someone that should be shooting people. Even with two guards, they can't be everywhere at the same time. Someone could walk in with an AR-15 and still kill 20 people, before he gets put down with a handgun.

 

I say, total ban on assault rifles, and then armed security at schools.

 

This just in, the armed guard at the school was too chicken to confront the shooter.

but the gun wasn't in the florida HS. the kid brought it in. and it could be an assault rifle or any gun. hell a kid could bring in a handgun with a 10 bullet clip and have it in his waist and under his shirt. 10 bullets could kill 10 people. it's all guns.

a teacher is a teacher, but if they wanna carry a gun with a legal permit, I got no qualms with that.

 

and my former colleague didn't like any ideas we had and had no ideas or solutions herself. that's another issue. if you're going to bash us for ideas, you better have your own besides crying "gun control."
