McDonagh has one more year after this year left on his deal, I don't think the rags will deal with an eastern team. If they do, they'll want the kitchen sink.

 

Trade: Capitals acquire defenseman Michal Kempny from Blackhawks...

for a puck or a buck... not sure which.

 

Red Wings goaltender Petr Mrazek has been traded to Philly for a conditional 4th in 2018 and a conditional 3rd in 2019. Red Wings cough up 50% of his salary this year. Mrazek is a free agent after this year. DET guaranteed no less than a 4th round for Mrazek. If PHI makes playoffs and Mrazek wins 5 games for PHI in reg season, 4th becomes a 3rd. If PHI advances to CF, and Mrazek wins six playoff games, the 3rd becomes a 2nd. If PHI re-signs him next season, DET gets PHI 3rd in 19.

 

Given the flyers situation, the wings could've tried to squeeze a 2nd, but they did ok. Not sure if the wings have anymore plans this week.

Rumour has kapanen for glendenning, babbs really high on him.

 

Mrazek is still restricted after this season. Not sure on this but if he walks the Flyers should be compensated.

 

Both their guys are signed next year, and cheap.

to me if it was offered and he didn't take it tells me he's just not that savvy as a GM. He only made the deal now bc Neuvirth got hurt. I never heard of this goalie, so I hope he works out. I was hoping for a bigger name to be honest and the Buffalo goalie.

 

I’m just saying that Philly can afford to let him walk and they might still get compensation. Not sure on that though.

well - I don't know much about him, but I kind of wanted a bigger name like the Buffalo goalie Lehner. I'm happy it didn't cost them Morin or Sanheim and just draft picks.

 

It all depends how bad they're hurt. If it's mrazek the rest of the way, he's easily worth a 2nd.

 

Elliott is out 6-8 weeks. Neuvirth is like glass, so who knows. Lyon long-term isn't the answer.

 

Agreed, if PM performs Philly pays more but they not only get the benefit of that play but they’ll also get compensated if he signs elsewhere this summer, assuming they tender him.

 

Since December, the Flyers have been hot. I just don't think they have enough to win a playoff round or 2. some nights, their offense looks unstoppable. the next 3 games, they look like dogshit. so Jekyll and Hyde. So up and down. If they play a top team like Tampa or Washington, they may not win a game. Hell, if it's Pittsburgh, they may not win a game. They need to somehow get home ice advantage and pray for a good matchup.

 

Apparently, GMJR and Penz are looking for some help (Grabner?) to get them over the top and ready for <YAAAWWWWN> another post-season push. Is Sprong trade-bait?
