2018 NFL Draft | Quarterbacks

Discussion in 'Cleveland Browns' started by SAS, Nov 22, 2017.

  1. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

On the flip side, Jeff George, Drew Bledsoe, Tim Couch, David Carr, JaMarcus Russell, Sam Bradford, and Andrew Luck were all QB "prototypes" selected #1 overall who are average-to-bums.

    Career combined record: 273-356-1

Jared Goff (2016), Jameis Winston (2015) are probably still too early to tell.

Alex Smith (2005), Eli Manning (2004), and Carson Palmer (2003) were just average.

Leaves Cam Newton (2011), Matt Stafford (2009), and Peyton Manning (1998) as successes.

Chance of success since 1990 drafting a "prototype": 23.1%
Chance of success since 1990 drafting a 6'0" QB: 100.0%

    Uhm NO

    I asked...

At what point did Rosen or Darnold EVER Git-R-Done vs the Best?

    In response to this statement...

    So Splain to me Lucy...

If UCLA didn't play a very good schedule...

HOW THE PHUQUE did Rosen "DO IT VS the best in college"?

I think SAS pointed out enough about how Darnold got his arse handed to him by tOSU.

Sam Darnold 23/33 289yds 0TD 2Int and a fumble vs the great powerhouse of Western Michigan.

Yup that's getting it done against the best in college:rake:

Sure he threw for 300+ yards, but committing 3 turnovers AND NOT putting any points on the board puts a pretty good size hole in your balloon.

IMHO He Looked more like a Kizer clone out there.

That right there. Said the same thing to the guys I was watching the game with. Same "deer in headlights/staring down a WR" and loses track of the pass rush once he locked on. What he get sacked 8-9 times? And I'll give 3 or 4 to just a good pass rush. The other 5-6 were holding the ball too long and not being mobile. Kizer v1.5 (doesn't deserve a full v2.0).

  9. Looks like Hue will get his guy

  10. They had red zone TOs which were obviously costly

  11. A.J. McCarron has won his grievance against the Bengals and been awarded unrestricted free agency.
The grievance dated back to McCarron's rookie season in 2014, where the Bengals kept him on the non-football injury list for all but two games, saying he suffered a shoulder injury away from the team. That prevented his contract from tolling, and meant he was headed for restricted, instead of unrestricted, free agency this offseason. McCarron contended his injury was wrongly listed as non-football, and an independent arbitrator agreed. Going on 28, McCarron will now be one of the "stars" of a slightly-deeper-than-usual free agent quarterback class. The No. 164 overall pick of the 2014 draft, McCarron has attempted just 133 career passes. He could be a Brock Osweiler or Mike Glennon waiting to happen. McCarron has a noted admirer in ex-Bengals OC/current Browns coach Hue Jackson, who nearly pulled off a deadline deal for his ex-pupil. Feb 15 - 5:01 PM

AND ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That is why the Browns went 0-16!!!

So forgive me if I'd prefer NOT to endure another ugly season like that with a clone of the guy we already have on the roster.:uhuh:

  13. There won't b a season that goes by where you won't have TOs...it's not Darnold was throwing into triple coverage...his OL was bad and he was getting hit from every angle

I'd laugh if it wasn't infuriating to read this garbage.

Let me use your own words against you:

Go back and look at the second half every play after the first quarter. Georgia OSU had his number and he was crap.

Every yard he "earned" from Q2 on was because the Buckeyes already had a huge lead and were playing prevent defense without their best player in the secondary (Ward).

  15. Sorry no team is playing prevent defense in the 2Q

I team that is soundly destroying an over-matched and under-qualified QB on an otherwise very good team does.

Sam Darnold is a bum and will be a bust at the NFL level.

Nice try buckwheat:nownow:, Yes turn overs happen, but RED ZONE turnovers KILL Drives and Cost Teams Games.

I seem to remember Kizer throwing behind WIDE OPEN receivers right into the hand of the trailing defender. So your triple coverage theory is very invalid.:uhuh:

In other words Darnold has ZERO, ZILCH, NO pocket awareness and is prone to taking sacks and turning the ball over.

No thanks we have that guy already...

Mayfield >>>>>>>>> Rest of the 2018 QB class

In 2021, there will be two GM's fired (whomever takes Darnold and Allen), one Sam Bradford-esque "boy he's got the talent if only he could stay healthy" (Rosen), and a Super Bowl victory by Baker Mayfield.

  19. Let's compare NFL QBs w a college kid lol

  20. Ok
