Actors have 1 line vs 50 lines? no chance on a movie set. who is the lead? who has top billing? so now you want everyone to be paid the same? they're ACTORS. Some get paid more and some get paid less. Same as the workforce. the CEO is the top dog and the janitor is the lowest man on the totem pole. So TOm Cruise should be paid the same as a first time actresses Jane Doe ?? According to your logic "hey, they're both actors, so they should be paid the same." The star of the movie....is gonna get paid the most. Kinda like the best player on most teams is typically earning the highest salary once they reach free agency or get an extension. Why would you even argue that? When did I say I want everyone paid the same? I said if you do the same job...like say a plumber or sales manager. Gender shouldn't matter...but a study of salaries and wages will tell you it does. Sports and entertainment skews the numbers. All actors aren't equal. Box office drawing power matters and it's going to change things. You're arguing something I never said. I didn't say a star of the movie is equal to a supporting actor with few lines. you say "if they do the same job," but then add in "not if they are the star of the movie." so there is a difference? the star vs a non-star. they are both acting bears?? are they not ? not 1 actress who bitched about the money stated the star or co-leads. they just said "all should be paid equal." as bears pointed out - that can't happen as it's on scale from the top star downward. well in the case of Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams, people bitched over equal pay over the reshoots for ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD. Well Wahlberg was paid more and this outraged people crying it's unfair. Wahlberg had an agreement to make more if they did reshoots as he was already done filming his scenes and had to go back for 9 more days. Williams' deal only asked for $800 dollars. Wahlberg $1 million! It was an agreement he had in his contract. it wasn't man vs woman. yet all the women out there bitched it wasn't fair. who is the bigger star ? Wahlberg caved in and donated the money to MeToo anyways. But in reality - who is the bigger star there ? it's not just about all actors are equal. or doing the same job. that's what the woman protesters are leaving out.
Being the star versus being a supporting player is a big difference and you know that. Now you're arguing just to argue. Every role in a movie or play isn't equal. That argument would be like saying all football players are equal because they all play football. What the argument is if they do an equal job...the wage should be equal. That's all I'm arguing.
