I live for classless, sophomoric and jocular comments. Maybe we can change the sign that says it has been zero days since you pissed somebody the frick off with your eerily and odd cro magnon views, although I highly doubt it.

getting back to METOO#. The Oscars are around the corner, so METOO will be at the forefront of the show when it shouldn't be. the Oscars are about the excellence in film. People rip on me bc I don't think that's a platform for political speeches and other speeches about their flavor of the month gripes. last year more diversity in nominees, this year METOO, equal pay and all about power to woman. It's about film excellence. Sadly, we will get 4 hrs of people with pins and buttons stating how wrong the acting world is and the empowerment of men vs woman, the money differences and Francis McDormand crying about everything known to man and how it's not fair. if I wanted to watch a political show, i'd tuned into CNBC.

Now many people feel I'm wrong here. Shocker. People say this is the PERFECT PLACE for a speech bc the Oscars is watched by millions across the globe etc. To me that's using the broadcast for your own personal agenda.

Pretty soon - there will be nothing not worth hashtagging about and giving speeches over. again I say "flavor of the month," bc they will find something to cry about next year for sure. the polluted water in Zimbabwe or the crime lords in Brazil, or the disappearing rain forests etc. That's the sad part. It's just the flavor of the month. How fast did they move off of more diverse nominees and into Metoo #? so now go back to voting to only whites for awards? See how wrong that is? just another flavor.

100% right, Cat. Its similar to why people are turning off the NFL games because of the Krapinneck shit that the players started.

It ruins the award shows when a bunch of assholes try to shove their opinion down your throats instead of just celebrating the jobs well done in the entertainment industry.

I find it odd that in a country that prides itself on freedom of speech...most people are only comfortable hearing things they agree with and want anyone that doesn’t agree with them to shut up.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean we have a snowballs chance in hell of having agreement. It actually ensures we will have more disagreement. In dictatorships there is total agreement because free speech gets your head blown off.

In a dictatorship they also feed you to hogs that haven't eaten in a week, let's be fair.

Freedom of speech doesn't give them cart blanche to discuss whatever plight they want at any venue they want. I can't go into my boss' office and cry money wages aren't fair among men and woman employees. i'd be fired. I couldn't go to HR and cry about the rules being unfair for non-salary employees vs salary employees. these lib-tards wanna use their acceptance speeches and awards shows as a platform to launch their campaigns against the plights in the world. Again last year - wanted more diversity in Oscar nominees. Now it's fairer wages and rules on set or stage against men and sexual harassment, etc. I just feel there are other ways to get the message out and not at an awards show. They can disagree with me, I don't have an issue with that. It's speech after speech on a different causes that bothers me and there "whoa is me" sympathy card they always play!

bears-I'm happy for the award winners. I just wish they speak about the people who helped them get to that stage to win or the team involved in the movie they made. not women of power, metoo, Oscars more diverse, fairer wages, safer rules on set etc. it's a broken record. Again, if I wanted to see a political show for 4 hours, I would watch CNBC.

Actually you could legally do all those things you believe you can't. As long as you did so constructively.

That libtard label is dumb and childish....if you've aged past 13 then adding tard to the end of names and words is something you should probably stop doing.

Wages should be fair for each gender. Equal pay for equal work...that currently doesn't exist. And until it does anyone concerned with it should take every opportunity to speak on it. There's no logical reason a man should get paid more than a woman simply because he has a dick.

I'm not on board with the diversity thing....not that I'm against diversity. But the best actors and actresses should get nominated...skin color doesn't matter. Just like the Rooney rule in the NFL...making diversity compulsory doesn't work.

I'm kind of undecided on this. Having people of fame speak out against causes does draw more attention to the cause. That's a fact. At the same time I agree that when you watch a show for a specific reason it's a drag to have to listen to speeches that are not a reflection of the premise of the show.

Do you get upset when an award winner thanks god?

Did god produce the movie? Direct it? Do the makeup, hair, set design, music, or was he the key grip?

But you're okay with them saying that because it's not something that bothers you.

You know what's gonna happen on the awards show....so why watch? Bitching and moaning about an inevitability is silly.

I don't agree with every message every celebrity throws out there when a spotlight is shone on them. But it's gonna happen. Turn the channel.

It's like people who say that hate either Fox News or CNN...but will spend hours a day watching them. Why watch something you don't like? It confuses the shit out of me. I hate Adam Sandler movies made after Happy Gilmore. So....I don't watch them. Nothing to complain about.

You telling me not to use certain words? wow. this is why you piss people off bears and i know you don't care, but don't tell me what to do. i've sat here and read through 9 pages of your childish posts against Al in Cal and others. You're like the brat that said as a kid "I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you." "Nah, nah boo boo" and stick your tongue out. :p

All I know is Cameron Diaz at the height of her fame was making $20 mil a movie, most of her movies suck and no man every said boo about it. Now everyone is so mad and bitching about fairness. It think it's all bullshit. Same with the nominees and Bears for once we agree ! :rally: Skin color and diversity is all bullshit for nominations. It's about the best 5 actors, not the best 5 white, black, brown or green guys.

I watch for 2 reasons bears - I love films and want to see who wins the Oscar for film excellence and it was the 1 show I watched with my Mom when I was a kid. The 1 show I was allowed to stay up past my bedtime and watch with her on a school night. She died in 1993 and I always watch the Oscars as a tribute to her. It was like our Super Bowl together.

Not telling you what to do cat...if you want to be an immature twit....it's a free country....have at it.

I'm fine with insults and the like...I just think there should actually be some effort behind them.

Yeah Diaz made a lot of money...that's not the issue. The issue is when a man does the same thing as a woman and the woman gets paid less.

I'm sorry you think fairness is bullshit.....I'm confused why fairness is a bad thing. But a lot of your posts leave me confused so we will call it par for the course.

yeah bc no man got on his soapbox and bitched about it ! at the height of her fame, I bet she was paid more than her male co-stars as she was a huge draw. never see a man actor protesting that.
