This is certainly okay but if you wanted to you could take him all the way down to a base salary of 915,000 (from 7.975,000) making his '18 cap number $4,293,333. A savings of $4,766,666.

  3. I thought of that, but I like the clean numbers and I don't want to invest too heavily in a C who can't stay healthy. As is, I'm banking on him playing this year and still have a 4 million dead cap if I have to cut him next off season.

    Rams have restructured 2 contracts:

Mark Barron, max restructure. New cap hit: $4,526,667 (saving: $5,473,333)
Robert Woods, max restructure. New cap hit: $2,217,500 (saving: $5,782,500)

I'm assuming I can do my remaining restructure at a later date if I want?

Yes you can. It might even be more prudent unless it's obvious like mine were for the Eagles.

That's my thought. I can restructure Whitworth, but according to OTC I can save more money by restructuring either Tavon Austin or Robert Quinn - if I don't end up trading both of those, I'll probably end up restructuring one of them, just from a finances point of view.

Sounds right. Just for realism's sake don't over-commit to one if you think they may not stick around at their cost going forward. Okay who am I kidding. I am outright saying, as a neutral and not a mod, that guaranteeing money to Austin is a mistake even if it does save more this year.

And by max restructuring you lose most cap savings by trade going forward. So much so that it won't be worth trading Quinn in the future, hypothetically past this year, if it came up.

    OverTheCap is very easy.
1)Just go to your teams page.
    2) click on calculator
3)under transaction tab select dropdown > restructure
    4) Box pops up saying “How much do you want to restructure?” Default is maximum amount
    5) press restructure and your cap savings appear in green to the right.
    Easy peasy!

  18. Saints restructure Cameron Jordan and Terron Armstead, total savings according to Spotrac $15,347,500

If I read this right it's 3 contracts but only 2 players (not sure why less players than contracts), if that is in error and you can do 3 contracts for 3 players we also restructure Larry Warford, which bumps our total savings to $17,654,157
