  1. Ive already said 100 times Darnold and Rosen

  2. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

I'd say you've been wrong 100 times then, but that sorta seems like I'm low-balling the number.

  3. A source close to Browns GM John Dorsey told Yahoo's Charles Robinson that Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield would be an "outlier" for Dorsey's preferred style of quarterback.

The source told Robinson this just days after Robinson published a report connecting Browns dots to Mayfield. Per Robinson, the new source noted that Dorsey is a big proponent of "size, speed, quickness" in college prospects, and Mayfield would be shorter than a typical Dorsey-style passer. Dorsey was in Kansas City's front office when the Chiefs selected Patrick Mahomes at No. 10 overall. Mahomes is the ultimate size-speed-quickness quarterback prospect.

News Flash: Mayfield is shorter than ALL 'typical' passers.

  5. News flash: So you dont take him at #1

So now you are arguing that Lamar Jackson should be the Browns pick based on "the ultimate size-speed-quickness quarterback prospect"?

Hell, if THAT is your only basis, I hear J.T. Barrett will be available as well...

  8. It sucks the only yr the Browns finally won a few games, when Hoyer was playing over his head, they had no chance at Winston...talk bout bad luck smh

And... you lose out on the best QB in the draft.

I haven't seen Tannehill's name mentioned. Stop throwing things at me.

I mean as the "vet" who gives our shiny new #1 pick some room to grow. Cousins is the top dog, but like TD, I'm not convinced, and am inclined to go for the "leadership" guy in the draft, which I believe is Mayfield.

That said, the "vet" guy is the bigger question mark IMO. Keenum? Foles? Bradford? McCarron? Taylor? Bridgewater? McCown? Does anyone consider Bridggewater a vet? Keenum doesn't have much time either. Bradford has more down time than playing time, McCarron is a career back up. Foles is Jekyl/Hyde, but has time under center and successes, but also failures. Then there's the money and years they will want. I'd love to have McCown back, but I wouldn't expect that to happen, and if it did, we'd be starting our rookie by midseason (not a bad thing), with the all time mentor to whisper in his ear.

But what about Tannehill? How and where does he fit in? What would he cost? Would he expect to be a multi year starter? I don't know what to make of him.

How about some feeback from those of you who obviously spend a lot more time and skills researching possibilities.

Overall, I am really hoping for Mayfield (sorry Stopper), but I still believe the veteran is just as vital to the team's / QB's success, and just haven't seen his name pop up.

Until very recently, like yesterday, I didn't even think about his availability. Now there are reports that he could be cut or traded, so it is time to throw his hat in the ring for sure. He's expensive though..you would be trading for him to be your starter, not a 6-10 game fill in until Mayfield is ready.

    2018 $15.2M
2019 $18.8M (can cut with only a $2.3M cap hit)
    2020 $20.3M (none is guaranteed)

The big thing is health. If you are confident he would start the year healthy, he could definitely be in the running as the veteran mentor you are looking for..albeit an expensive one in 2018.

The Dolphins are low on cap space, so they may be looking to trade him reasonably. A 4th rounder may do it...depends on other teams evaluations of him being a more long term answer, that could drive up the price.

With clarification on Foles contract, I am thinking the Eagles 2nd rounder back might get him...again, is a one year stint worth it? I believe it is!

Yeah, glad we dodged that bullet. Between the college rape and the sexual impositioning of Uber drivers, it's hard to see where he finds the time to go 18-27 as a starter.

  15. Ya keep accusing people when their found not guilty or better yet settle for Cody Kessler or Kizer and go 0-16 instead of 18 wins....what a joke of a statement but I shouldnt be shocked

@SAS, Walterfootball agrees with you. Kind of. They have Barkley going 1st and Mayfield 4th. @showstopper, you good with that?

If you believe in a QB at #4, take him #1..Don't play games and take a chance of missing out. You can replace a RB much easier than a QB.

When the dust settles, barring a big veteran signing, I am growing in confidence it will be Mayfield #1. That #4 pick is wide open.

Could be Barkley, Chubb or Fitzpatrick.

Any way you look at it, you are getting the BEST QB in the draft and either the BEST RB, DL or FS/CB Hybrid in the draft. If you can get the top prospect at two positions, you are setting yourself up for improvement.

I’ve said this before, but with news of not only Josh McDaniels pulling out of the Colts job and Andrew Luck’s shoulder needing *another* surgery, the Colts should take a QB.

Can’t get silly at #1 and still hope your guy is there at #4.

Agreed. I figured by tax day most will be convinced...# Mayfield.

I agreed with you and @IrishDawg42. I’m completely on board with Mayfield #1.

I’ve wondered a lot lately about Luck’s shoulder. It would be a shame to see his career cut short.
