That chocolate beer reminds me of a beer I had that was from Belgium, they have it at this bar called bier market. They have beers from all over the world, they even have one beer that they serve with a piece of chocolate cake. I have to try to look for it, I did a search and New Zealand came up for white stout.

my boy ! I was able to find a somewhat old autobiography of him on eBay. I got for $9!

And I also found an incredible piece of sports memorabilia. In 1977 at the AS Game dinner was a whose who of NHL players-Ken Dryden, Bobby Clarke, Bernie Parent, Clarence Campbell, Chico Resch, Bobby Nystrom, Scotty Bowman, and a ton of other guys. A old 93 yr old man was there too - Fred "Cyclone" Taylor. A guy had the majority of NHL All-Star sign the dinner menu, which was a multi-page menu and it was sealed with a cover and gold tassels. The guy had Campbell sign it first and then he got Cyclone Taylor's autograph. Taylor laughed at the guy because no one asked for his autograph in some time. He signed it and pretty clear for a 93 yr old man.

Well I bought that menu from the guy and he also had the DINNER RESERVATION card from the NHL to the dinner with the signed menu! I am sending it to PSA/DNA for certification and authentication and holding onto that puppy for a while. Taylor's autograph alone is $300 and up without certification. With it and all the others signed is a nice small bundle for the Catfish! $$$

many years ago when I drank, I went to a beer tasting festival 2 blocks near the University of Pennsylvania - U of P at a great gem of a place called "World Café Live." The venue hosts former big bands that are not famous anymore when they want to do a small show, hosts wedding as they have 2 5 Star kitchens inside of it or beer tasting festivals. My first time there, everyone was raving about this chocolate beer. I thought of that concept as disgusting. The line for it was long all day. With 15 min to go before the event ending, there was no line, so I changed my mind and had a 7 ounce glass of it. Wow. Unreal. It was like a chocolate milk shake in taste with a beer backing to it. It was fantastic! It proved my ass wrong for sure. Never got the name of it though.

speaking of not drinking. 22 months is a week away and 2 yrs is 3 months away!

Get an authentification on his autograph, that's a cool thing to have, not sure what it's worth, maybe it's good to just keep it.

Ones without it go for $500 and up on eBay. Cert makes it more valuable. The program is signed by 20 HOF'ers and 20 non-HOF guys, so the value is well over $500-1000 as Ken Dryden signed it, Scotty Bowman, Clarence Campbell and others who don't sign that much or have already passed away.

well I'm trying to get a townhouse next spring and out of my car lease this fall, so money is an issue for me. I'm trying to get as much as possible to pull off both acquisitions.

You should send an email to the HHOF and see if they're interested.

well I already know from the Baseball HOF in Cooperstown, they will take it as a donation or put it on loan - but they will NOT pay me for it. They - Baseball HOF don't pay for any of their memorabilia. It's all on loan or gifted to them ! I'm sure the HHOF in Toronto is the same.

I'm not that generous Skinny. Sorry. I would consider it on loan, which would be damn cool, but they couldn't have it forever.

I never been there and I want to go one day, but I wouldn't doubt they already had his autograph. However to have the signed 1977 All-Star game dinner menu is something they might not have. I'll add it to the things I gotta do this year.

I didn't know that the HHOF doesn't buy their stuff and its on loan. Give ebay a shot then.

I said the BB HOF does. No idea about the HHOF. I will consider eBay after authentication. It's pricey. About $150 to get it done.

    I don't know any. haha.

Don't just go on eBay. You may be better off at a real sports auction, likely a bit further north than Philly. Do some research. You may be able to get more than you think you are getting. He died a year later too. It might be his last autograph. Plus all those other big names on an interesting item along with the reso. Some nobody could get it cheap on eBay and then sell it at an auction for much more.

I don't think the HHOF would be interested. They probably have the first contract he ever signed.

thanks Joe - I'm an 17 yr old eBay user, so I know the pitfalls of the site. for as much as eBay is great, it's expensive and sucks too.

certification is key and time. if some of these guys pass away soon, (no offense) like Bowman or Dryden, it becomes more valuable. The guy said no one was going around asking for autographs except for him. He was a lot younger then. It could be the only piece like it. And yes Taylor did die the next year. I saw this and jumped on it. No one had any interest in it and I couldn't pass it up. He gave me the dinner table reservation card and the lettering and wording match the menu cover. so I have that providence as well.

haha but this could be the last thing he ever signed and it was an NHL function.
