Jets make sense for Cousins b/c of their new OC's connection to Shanahan and McVay. And they've tried and failed with the young QB route several times. It's year 4 for Bowles and McCagnan...they need to win.

Not much going on at the moment in ATL. The news of the week here is that apparently the NFL regularly surveys fans at every stadium about the game day experience. Atlanta's new stadium ranked best in the league for food and beverage.

For years team president Rich McKay had done his own extensive surveys, focus groups etc to find out what the "pain points" were among NFL fans at the Georgia Dome and some other stadiums. Food/beverage turned out to be a big one. With that in mind, Arthur Blank and McKay made that a major focal point for the design of the new MBS.

    Obviously it worked:

F&B Element ATL NFL Avg. ATL Rank
    Overall 8.2 6.2 1st
    Variety of food 8.4 6.7 1st
    Quality of food 8.1 6.6 1st
    Speed of service 8.1 6.7 1st
    Value for price paid 8.5 5.0 1st

Seems a no-brainer that they've decided he's ready to go. Probably bring in a veteran Chad Henne type backup to mentor him and just in case he falls on his face.

We'll just have to keep settling for having 1,264 beer taps instead. (actual count)

Aaron Williams, Bills safety who took a cheap shot from Jarvis Landry in 2016 and never fully recovered, has announced his retirement from the NFL.

The Browns are a team that could improve quickly with 2 top 5 picks. If you believe you are a QB that could lift the team why not go there? If you go in and make the Browns relevant you become a God in the city of Cleveland.

I agree. Cleveland needs a QB and their not as far away from being competitive as some would think. I would like the challenge personally if I were a young QB. Cleveland has pieces just need to have someone in command in my opinion.

The Browns have history of not finding a QB, and right now they do not have enough weapons to tempt Cousins. They have Gordon, Duke Johnson, Crowell. Might have something in Coleman, but hasn't been able to stay healthy. Also have a leaky defense. If they hit on their draft picks then they might have something going. But if I'm Cousins, would I be willing to trust the Browns would hit a home run in the Draft to make them competitive? Nope, they've had more #1 picks than anyone else since they came back and made the playoffs twice. 2 winning seasons in 18 years, 14 out of 18 of those seasons they won 5 or less games. They just went 0-16, true that means they can only go up, but they aren't contending for a championship next year. I'd be looking more for the Jaguars, Broncos, Vikings. How about the Cardinals? Don't have the greatest supporting cast, but they get Johnson back and he'd have a year with Fitzgerald...What about the Bills? Even the Jets?

Someone reported the Jags are going to stick with Bortles, was that before or after the Alex Smith trade? Cousins leading the Jaguars could be very scary for the rest of the AFC.

Cardinals plan to cut Adrian Peterson

After playing just six games for the Cardinals, Adrian Peterson appears to be done in Arizona.

The Cardinals are planning to cut Peterson, Mike Jurecki of 98.7 FM reports.

Peterson is heading into the second year of the two-year, $7 million contract he signed with the Saints last year. Peterson lasted just four games in New Orleans before the Saints traded him to the Cardinals.

Although Peterson had two very good games for the Cardinals, he struggled in the other four, and with David Johnson coming back in 2018, the Cardinals don’t have much of a need at running back.

Peterson, who will turn 33 in March, may not have anything left. He has totaled just 601 yards in the last two seasons, and it remains to be seen whether any team will want him in 2018.

Maybe the Chiefs are tired of signing CJ Spiller a dozen times and switch to Peterson.

Yeah, I disagree here. I'm with Steelersking. If I'm Cousins, I'm not looking at Cleveland as a landing spot. No offense to long-suffering Browns fans here, but when you're coming off an 0-16 season, and are 1-31 in the last two seasons, I don't see them as being "not as far away from being competitive as some would think." I think you're about as far away from being competitive as you can possibly be.

Now, I DO think they have some promise in terms of the huge trove of draft picks they've stock-piled. But you have to trust that they're going to hit on a lot of those.

Perhaps. Its not like a team could draft a QB and a RB and compete for a playoff spot in their rookie season. Totally impossible.

Dallas also wasn't 1-31 the previous two seasons before landing Elliott and Prescott.

They also didn't have D. Kizer under center, allowed a Pro-Bowl RT and DB to walk in free agency or fielded the youngest roster in the NFL 2 years in a row.

maybe it could happen, just maybe, but it's Cleveland. I mean you guys took Manziel and Brady Quinn for Pete's sake when neither should've been drafted outside the 4th-5th rounds. To break the tide of drafting bad QBs or other positions, you gotta make some great draft picks FIRST. Has Cleveland done that recently ?

  20. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

And the idiots that drafted those guys are long gone.
