I disagree, heavily. The defense, starting with the line, is a huge boon to the QB. Poor defense, puts a QB in more positions to be forced to throw, good defenses give the offense much more flexibility. Look at all the games that Tony Romo lost where he threw for 300+ yards, scored 35+, and ended up throwing a late pick to seal the deal because everyone even remotely paying attention knew that he had to throw. If you score 35 points, and lose, then you can probably point to the D. I threw out there a few years back.... like CBS years... a challenge to rank the 53 man roster in order of importance. Not taking into account a specific player, just the importance of the position. Obviously, QB is the number 1. After that, some would argue the LT, some the CB, some DE. No one stepped up to the challenge. My point being, that it is not JUST the QB that matters to the QB's play.
Dorsey has made the "it's about winning" comment, in regards to QB's, more than once since his arrival in Cleveland. That's a reason to lean toward Smith over Cousins, and Mayfield over all amateur challengers. If we end up with Chase Daniel or Drew Stanton starting week 1, we'll know it was just more hollow words from Browns FO..
My super-sleeper WR is still the same as I said back in December...D.J. Chark. The Senior Bowl only reinforced my belief. stopper, what is your take on Auden Tate? He could be the next Kelvin Benjamin....(if you've mentioned it before, my bad)
I'm not convinced he will get consistent separation.....great red zone target...40 time will be huge for him
Consistent separation? He won't...He's too big. But that doesn't mean he still can't be very effective. Helluva red zone target...
In order: QB LT (assuming right handed QB) Edge rusher shutdown CB Center after that, it's debatable IMO...ILB, WR, RB, S....If you have a special player at any of those positions, it can be a difference maker....
According to Bovada Sportsbook, here are the odds on Alex Smith's landing spot for 2018; Chiefs +160 Cardinals +450 Jaguars +500 Bills +500 Broncos +700 Jets +700 Giants +1000 Browns +1000 Redskins +1200 I have major disagreements. lol! Maybe I should wager... First of all, forget the Broncos. There is no way in hell they are trading Alex within the division. Nor to the Jags....I've already mentioned that I think KC is 100% committed to trading him, so I have no idea why they are the favorite to retain him. That doesn't make much sense.. I guess it's just hard to project trades... I honestly do think that with our given situation and the fact that Dorsey is now in Cleveland, the Browns should be the favorite, with the Cardinals a close second.......I guess we'll find out soon enough.
Nobody will believe me but once these odds came out I was gonna throw $10 on Wash cause I agreed w TD he would stay in KC or go NFC
lol! yep. The only team with worse odds than us according to Bovada... Evidently the Redskins think Smith > Cousins...
Yep. Cousins ain't coming to Cleveland...Looks like Browns are fucked for at least one more season...smh.
