Broncos also rumored to be shopping Aqib Talib and Demaryius Thomas. Top CB or WR could be that pick at #5.

I don’t think Allen cracks the Top 10. He’ll probably be the fourth QB taken.

John Dorsey’s pick will come down to Mayfield or Darnold.

  5. I wouldn't understand courting Cousins and losing his best WR

I hope you’re right, Sam. I really do.

I don’t want Allen in the first round, because I don’t think he belongs in the first round. My comment was based purely on an impending feeling of doom.

I’ll bet you a 6 pack that he goes in the top 10, but you have to throw in a conditional bottle of Four Roses if the Browns take him in the first round.

    How’s Luck’s shoulder?

PS: I hope you win our bet

Thomas had 83 receptions, 949 yards, and 5 touchdowns in 2017. You called Terrelle Pryor a 'bum' for a similar stat line and Thomas had way better quarterbacks throwing him the football.

Looking at the Top 10 today, barring trades, I see the following happening:

    1 (CLE): Baker Mayfield, QB
    2 (NYG): Sam Darnold, QB
    3 (IND): Bradley Chubb, DE
    4 (CLE): Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB
    5 (DEN): Courtland Sutton, WR
    6 (NYG): Josh Rosen, QB
    7 (TAM): Saquon Barkley, RB
    8 (CHI): Calvin Ridley, WR
    9 (SFO): Quenton Nelson, OG
    10 (OAK): Mike McGlinchey, OT

Counting on John Dorsey to make the right decision between Mayfield/Darnold.

New York really has to hope Cleveland takes Mayfield as they would want a guy like Darnold over Allen to groom behind Eli. If Cleveland takes Darnold, they would have to go offensive tackle as their LT and RT are atrocious.

Indianapolis should strongly consider taking a new QB and trying to ship Luck out of town. He's a marginal QB when healthy and he hasn't been 100% in three seasons. Chris Ballard will take the best player if they think Luck's shoulder holds up.

Cleveland goes defense with their second since the running back class is so ridiculously deep. Looks to get a Michel, Penny, or Jones II later in the draft.

Denver signs Kirk Cousins in free agency, alleviating the need for a QB. Could also stand to add some line help.

New York Jets and Rosen is a perfect team/player match - makes too much sense. Have needs everywhere but have to start at signal caller.

Tampa can't pass up a weapon like Saquon to take some pressure of Jameis.

Chicago had the worst receiver group in the NFL but is sneaky-good at almost every other position.

San Francisco tags Jimmy and tries to work out a long-term deal while grabbing a monster offensive lineman at a position they're lacking.

Oakland needs to replace Donald Penn who's not only a bum, but has twice contributed to Derek Carr suffering major injuries.

Allen comes into play at #11 (Miami), #13 (Washington), and #15 (Arizona). If/when Washington loses out on Cousins, I would have to think they strongly consider moving up to select a QB unless they like Allen (who shouldn't even see the field until 2020).

    Josh Dorsey, on free agency:

Conclusion? Zero chance the Browns sign Kirk Cousins.

  10. Your really comparing Thomas w Pryor......LLOOOOOLLLLL!!!!!!! Pryor career 99 rec 1311 yds and 5 TDs....Thomas '14 111 rec 1619 yds 11 TDs...please stop

  11. I havnt seen one mock draft where Mayfield goes #1....not saying mock drafts are gospels, but 99% of the ones I have seen Mayfield isnt at the top and there isnt a OT even close to being top 3 this year

So you're saying Kirk Cousins doesn't love football?? The guy has played through everything since becoming a starter. I know you are not high on him, I just don't know what else there is for him to prove he belongs in top ten status...with many QBs dropping out over the next few years, he will be climbing that ladder towards the top.

Being prudent could very well lend to the meaning, "I am going to use it to get the most proven QB available so that the QB position is no longer in question, at a feasible economic price that is founded for both team and player". Prudent doesn't equate to cheap...just sensible. Right now, spending on Kirk Cousins would be VERY sensible.

Cousins could easily fall into a category of getting around $28M per year, but the team may guarantee 70% of that contract. THAT would be sensible for both parties and most likely not copied by any other team. No long term QB contract has ever guaranteed 70% to my knowledge. The amount of $28M per would give him the richest contract in history, for the time being...it won't be long before another QB tops that...but the 70% will not be matched, imho. We have the cap space to be sensible with a large sum up front which will make the contract team friendly in subsequent years. I still have no idea why Sashi didn't approach it in this way last off season.

Gordon '13 87 rec 1646 yds 9 TDs...You're all the time saying...that was a long time ago...Which is it? A career year, or his recent normal? Fact is Thomas has fallen hard, he was obviously the product of a good QB and not the other way around. He has dropped in receptions, TDs and yards for 3 consecutive seasons and has hit the 30 mark. Pryor isn't a spring chicken, but he is two years younger than Thomas...Gordon is 4 years younger, in case you were wondering....

Regardless...No, Pryor doesn't compare to the 2014 version of Thomas...I don't think anyone is arguing that...but his current status might be pretty accurate.

I'm saying Kirk Cousins loves money more than he loves football.

  15. For the 100th time...Gordon did it ONE year....Thomas has done it year in year out...also I was talking bout Pryor not Gordon

  16. Just being honest.....if Cousins chooses the Browns and becomes the highest paid QB I think it sends red flags up right away that he wants one more big pay day...doesnt care bout winning cough cough...Bowe, Britt, etc...now if he takes a reasonable market contract then he cares bout winning and is still getting paid...we all know Cousins isnt worthy of being the highest ranked player in the game

I assume you mean highest "paid" player. Let me ask you this, Is Matt Stafford worthy? He was the highest paid payer, until he was replaced by Derek Carr. The point is, it's all about timing. Cousins is a free agent at the right time...

    I'm not sure that's a fair statement..

We all love money. It's not Cousins' fault that Washington hasn't committed to him....He has proven that he should have been drafted much higher than round 4.... Considering what was thrown in front of him since his rookie season, and everything he has overcome to get where he is today, I'd say he loves football very much...

I agree, every player in the NFL wants market value. He was simply savvy enough to wait out the Redskins use of the Franchise Tag...That said, the market will most likely dictate the contract this time around and the Redskins will simply match it. I don't think he even changes teams...although, he might feel he can get the same amount of money AND win more games in Denver, so that isn't out of the question....or Jacksonville for that matter.

I do agree it is a long shot that he comes to Cleveland. But it is still my personal #1 option.

  20. Yes highest paid...my bad
