If Friday night’s Cotton Bowl was the last game of Sam Darnold’s college career, it was an inauspicious ending. Darnold, the USC quarterback viewed as a potential first overall pick in the NFL draft, threw a pick-six and lost two fumbles in a 24-7 loss to Ohio State. He said after the game that he hasn’t yet decided whether to turn pro. ”Right now I think I’m really just focused on hanging out with my teammates for the next couple of days, really just saying bye to the seniors because they put together such a great season.’’ he said. “It’s tough. I’ll look at everything and make my decision after that.’’ If Darnold had been permitted to turn pro a year ago, he might have been the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. But Darnold didn’t play as well this year, and that may have hurt his draft stock. Still, Darnold is now three years out of high school, which means he satisfies the NFL’s requirements to be draft eligible. It would be a major surprise if he doesn’t announce next month that he’s turning pro.
Lamar Jackson has just declared eligible for the NFL Draft. Apologies if I'm not the first one to post this.
Baker Mayfield: “I will play anywhere that gives me a chance” After raising some eyebrows with a social media comment indicating he wants the Dolphins to draft him, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield clarified that he will play for anyone. “Everybody can relax, I will play anywhere that gives me a chance. I’m not picky, I will go anywhere and strive to uplift a franchise and win ball games,” Mayfield wrote on Twitter. So why did Mayfield write “Get Me to Miami”? He says he was directing it at form Oklahoma receiver Kenny Stills, who is now a Dolphin. “I commented about playing for Miami because I was talking to a former Sooner in Kenny Stills,” Mayfield said. But is there a chance Mayfield could be a Dolphin? Despite the presence of Ryan Tannehill, the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins are open to drafting a quarterback in the first round. So it’s not impossible. Just not something Mayfield can force with social media comments.
Josh Allen would relish the chance to turn the Browns around The Broncos are getting a close look at Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen at the Senior Bowl this week, but they may not have a chance to draft him with the fifth overall pick. If the Browns like Allen, they can make him the first overall pick, which would leave the Broncos to look elsewhere for help at quarterback heading into the 2018 season. During an appearance on 92.3 The Fan, Allen said he isn’t campaigning for the Browns to do that but he also isn’t daunted by the prospect of joining an 0-16 team hoping to end two decades of searching for a quarterback. “If I’m fortunate enough to become a Cleveland Brown, you can expect everything from me,” Allen said. “I want to be the guy that turns around the Cleveland Browns. The guy that does that is going to be immortalized in Cleveland forever. To think about that and to put yourself in that situation and in those shoes, you gotta love that as a quarterback and you gotta love that as a football player and competitor. This is something that can really be set in stone forever, if you’re the guy that can help turn this Cleveland Browns team around.” Allen said the “competitor” in him wants to start right away, but that he’d welcome time to learn before moving into the lineup. That question, along with the more pressing matter of which team will be making the choice, won’t be answered for quite some time.

There are a few factors that are still to be considered and I have all of my redundancies to go through, but this latest update will be extremely close, if not exact, to how the final rankings shake out. Baker Mayfield says he will not attend NFL draft A year ago, the No. 1 overall pick, Myles Garrett, stayed in his hometown of Arlington, Texas, rather than attend the NFL draft in Philadelphia. This year the draft is in Arlington, and one of the draft’s top prospects won’t be attending. Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was in Fort Worth on Monday night to pick up the Davey O’Brien Award, and during a round of interviews, the Heisman Trophy winner told Newy Scruggs of DFW’s NBC5 that his draft-day plans do not include AT&T Stadium. Mayfield would have served as the headliner of draft week. It is not unprecedented for a top quarterback prospect to stay home for the draft, though most usually attend. The top quarterbacks in 2015, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota, chose not to attend. Winston went first overall, and Mariota was the second choice.
Final scores are posted for quarterbacks. Unless some new information comes to light that would be pretty earth shattering, these will be the numbers that I take into the draft. https://live4sportnetwork.com/forum/threads/2018-quarterback-class.10753/
I think that is probably accurate, but I'm really having a hard time nailing down exactly where I feel comfortable with mocking him. His name will be in play starting as early as #12 to the Bills with connections to your Steelers, the Patriots, Jaguars, Bills and Giants also being solid, with New York likely making a small move back into the bottom of the first to get the extra year on his rookie deal. Right now, I believe the chances are slim that he makes it to the Patriots second pick in the first. However, I'm starting to think that the Steelers may be interested enough to try and make a small move up if Rudolph is still on the board starting at #20. It would probably cost them this years third and next years third to make that move, but it would put them ahead of the Patriots and possibly the Bills if Buffalo fails to move up. It's one of the reasons that I believe the Bills would need to pull the trigger on Mason with their early pick if they fail to trade up to #2 or #4 to get either Rosen or Allen.
Just watching some QB highlights and I agree with Tim, Mason Rudolph is the best QB in this class. He will fall to a team with a HOF QB winding down his career. Rudolph will win some SBs as a Steeler or Patriot. Mark my words.
LOL, no...It only takes one group of guys whose egos believe they will "fix" Josh Allen and he will become the greatest QB to ever play the game...Odds are really against that group of men...more than likely, Josh Allen becomes someone else's problem when they all get fired.
If you want long necks, I still owe you a case from about two years ago...How about I finally deliver those for the draft?
