The Red Sox have reportedly made an offer to free agent J.D. Martinez in the range of five years and $100 million. Good grief...
The Blue Jays announced on Friday that the club acquired outfielder Randal Grichuk from the Cardinals in exchange for pitcher Dominic Leone and minor league pitcher Conner Greene. Grichuk, 26, became expendable when the Cardinals acquired Marcell Ozuna from the Marlins. With veteran Dexter Fowler in right field and Tommy Pham — who finished 11th in NL MVP Award balloting last season — in center, Grichuk was effectively pushed to the bench. He will get a shot at regular playing time in an outfield corner with the Jays. Grichuk has had solid numbers since debuting in 2014, but he hasn’t been able to recapture the magic of his 2015 campaign. Last year, he hit .238/.285/.473 with 22 home runs and 59 RBI in 442 plate appearances. Grichuk will earn $2.8 million this season and will be eligible for arbitration for two more years before becoming a free agent.

Giants sign Austin Jackson to two-year, $6 million contract The Giants announced on Monday night the signing of outfielder Austin Jackson. According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, it’s a two-year, $6 million deal with performance incentives that allow Jackson to earn up to an additional $2.5 million for a total of $8.5 million. Jackson, who soon turns 31 years old, spent last season with the Indians. In 318 plate appearances, he hit .318/.387/.482 with seven home runs, 35 RBI, and 46 runs scored. The Giants have been on the hunt for a center fielder and Jackson addresses that need relatively cheaply. Jackson will join Hunter Pence and newcomer Andrew McCutchen in the outfield.
Brewers traded for Christian Yelich, too. They've got a lot of outfielders, even with Lewis Brinson going out in the Yelich deal.
someone reported it was for 3 top prospects. maybe in the brewers organization but not in the top 25 of baseball America rankings.
Well nobody has 3 top 25 in all of MLB prospects. They were 3 of the top 10 in the Brewers system. Brinson is top 10 in all of MLB.
Francisco Rodriguez signed a minor league deal with the Phillies with an invite to Spring Training...
