When do the Jags have to cut Bortles to not owe the 5th year option money? There is an out, I believe, but I thought that came with a expiration. $19M would go a long way to helping sign Cousins, if that's what they want to do.

It's fully guaranteed on injury or sometime in mid-March.

So, they'll have a few days in free agency hopefully to sign someone, then let him go...

    Geesus . . .

The way you two talk, we should just plan on the next USC quarterback bust at #1 (and then mark the first full weekend on our calendars in 2019 for another fucking parade).

  5. So that means 26 other teams don't view him that way...pretty good %

I don’t see anywhere that you could glean that from my posts. I’m just stating my opinion and I’ve had enough conversation over the years with the Browns faithful that I’m confident you guys know I’m not jabbing Cleveland with those thoughts.

Jacksonville can’t get both Smith and Cousins so one will remain available, but the Jags were 1 win away from the Super bowl in 2017 and with better quarterback play they should be set to make another deep playoff run.

No, Einstein. It means that the tweeter that posted it only talked to 5 or 6 teams.

Was reading earlier that Dorsey is also "watching" Mike White of Western Kentucky.

  9. Well there are 26 other teams he needs to address then

Start of the league year, March 14th, I believe.

    SMH....

He didn't even say that ALL 5-6 of the teams had the same concern, he just said that there is legitimate concern among teams. Most likely there will be a few that aren't even smart enough to recognize his issues (Is Ray Farmer employed anywhere right now?). To ignore them and say they don't exist though, well, to each his own...ignorance is bliss.

If that's the case, the Jags are lucky they have the "legal tampering" week right before that date...

  13. So if the NYG aren't included as one of these teams and select him #2 it's a moot point

  14. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

Dude, it's just conversation. I didn't know you were related to him. But, to answer your question, yes it would be a moot point...as would the fact Baker Mayfield is 6' tall if the Browns select him #1 overall...

Slimmer pickings at #29. They just need someone to work play action passes off of the running game and Rudolph has the accuracy to make that happen. He's a senior, three year starter, won enough games - all passing Parcells' metrics - and could start immediately for Jacksonville.

Only Mayfield and Rosen, in my opinion, are guys who could start as rookies and neither will be available when Jacksonville is on the clock - barring an insane trade-up.

Just reading through this and trying to make sure I can understand your point.

Are you saying that only Mayfield and Rosen could start for multiple teams, while Rudolph could only start for Jacksonville, or am I interpreting it in the wrong manner?

And I forgot to message you back the other morning but thanks for getting back to me.

    Sorry if it was ambiguous.

Only QBs I would feel comfortable starting as rookies in this class are: Mayfield, Rosen, and Rudolph. Mayfield is the ultimate competitor and my top player, so that's a given. Rosen has the most natural mechanics and a great arm - he could be plug-and-play. Rudolph checks the "Parcells boxes" and is big enough to withstand the NFL punishment.

Darnold needs 2-3 years of grooming with his poor mechanics and decision-making.

    Allen is a tight end.

Jackson is a terrific athlete but still would benefit from some seasoning.

Anyone after those five is probably being drafted outside the first round when a QB should be say anyway (looking at you, Hue Jackson). Realistically, you'd want all those guys to sit but that's simply not the reality of the NFL today.
